I purchased this lens to replace a similar Sigma lens that I have had for over a decade. The improvements to autofocus and image color were immediately noticeable. We live in South Florida and have a series of small, inter-connected waterways that attract many different types of birds. This offers a year-round opportunity for bird photography literally in my own backyard. Using a monopod and the lens extended to 600 mm (960 mm effective focal length on my Canon EOS Rebel T2i which does not have a full-size image sensor) allows me to get close to my subjects, even a small bird like the Palm Warbler which is visiting us here during its winter migration. I highly recommend this lens!

The price to value ratio is incredible for this lens, I had broken an older 80-400 Nikkor, and just could not see

A superb lens which is a noticeable improvement, optically and design wise, on the old 150-500. Im loving the light-weight and the speed of autofocus. Also purchased the USB dock, which allows access to custom settings, and is recommended.
