Easy setup and can control from anywhere!

With a lot of these newer smart plugs, you dont really know what youre getting. I have this plugged in outside of the house on my back deck and use my Alexa to turn it on and off. It was relatively easy to set up as well (if you are a tad tech savvy). Now, I **DO** have WiFi that reaches out there, so that is a MAJOR consideration. If you dont have WiFi in the area that you want to connect this to, then you will probably have issues turning it on/off remotely. As a nice touch, I can independently name each of the two sockets in the app, and Alexa recognizes them automatically so I can turn them on/off separately with voice commands. Like I said, nice.

I went looking for a smart outdoor plug and found this one. I have some wemo smart plugs inside but found they do not have an outdoor plug. I didnt really want another smart home device app to manage stuff but here we are. Despite my reservations about a cheap Chinese product due to the grammatical errors in the product description, I bought it. I really like the VeSync app for this product much more than wemo, straightforward and easy to use. I have not had any issues with the plug and currently have a water fountain and Christmas lights plugged into it, with the lights set on a timer. I got a new router after I had this up and running and it had no issues connecting to the new router and just working. Alexa controls it every time. The one problem I thought I had was me. There is a button on the side that you can power the whole thing on and off with. But if you power it off with the button on the side, Alexa wont find it. It takes it offline or into a pairing mode, I think, and turning it back on with the button on the side fixes it. So use the app or Alexa and all is good. Im buying a second one. Update- got the second one set up just as smoothly as the first and no issues several months into using them.

This just happened to pop up as a product recommended for me. I had a regular photosensitive timer connected to a set of decorative lights and a fountain. At about $22.00 (with coupon) and the positive reviews, it was a easy decision to upgrade. Set up is as straightforward as most smart devices. I skipped reading the instructions for setting up the plug with Alexa so I didnt get Alexa to recognize the plug at first. Once I read the instructions and set up the VeSync skill with Alexa, I had it synced in a minute. Its nice that each outlet can be controlled separately. I have the fountain and lights set to turn on an hour before sunset and turn off at 11:30p--no more changing the timer as the seasons change. Also, its good to be able to turn on on off the fountain separately. In the past I had to remember to unplug the fountain if we were going away for a few days.

We installed this Wi-Fi plug on our barn to control a set of string lights and a set of led lights over our stalls. Our Wi-Fi router is 100 yards away so I was skeptical if it would work. My phone shows 1 bar usually so it’s a weak signal. This my wife and daughter are out there regularly in tge dark so this is nice to be able to turn lights on before they go out. Everyone has the app on their phone so it’s very user friendly and nice to be able to operate anywhere. Pairing was simple too. We are very happy!

Wi-Fi is a little wonky in the connect but I finally got a reasonable signal. Should add 5ghz for a connect. Much stronger signal.

I did not like that it will only connect to a 2.4 network. Come on, really?

I Just got the package and read all good Quick Guide manual and took me about 10 to 15 mins to setup, configure with 2.4Ghz WIFI (NOT 5GHZ wifi!!) with DHCP. I setup 2 outlet for my Big Bug Zapper and Backyard Xmas tree Light (all year around) which I have real Christmas tree outside!!.. Bug Zapper is Manually on/off.. The Xmas Tree is automatically on and off by timer! It really worth it.. Note!! Make sure you have good signal WIFI on 2.4ghz WIFI.. $30 is well worth it. It works Alexa or Google Home 100%

Used it for back porch lights. I like to be able to control from my phone or Alexa.
