Fantastic product

I purchased this baren to help with the process of pulling prints from my gel plates. It saves my wrists as I can apply even pressure over the whole print with less strain to my wrists.

They are what I expected to be and recommend them to everyone.

I have not used it yet. But my friends has one and it works like a charm I kind of also want to by the press so that It applies equal amount of pressure to the wood block. Love it..

This barren could be dangerous since the metal band is sharp and caused cutting to my fingers. Also the bottom is not smooth.

Ive been carving rubber stamps. The images , before the Baren, were OK. Now the images are really really good. Its just what I needed to get even pressure to make an improved print. I highly recommend.

This gets rave reviews but I had a less than stellar experience with ink transfer using this. I still really want a press but as this is just a hobby now, I cant afford a press. Maybe when I retire and have more time for creative endeavors.

I am very pleased with the Speedball Baren, as the build quality is very nice, featuring a wooden handle and a silver band around the base. Not only is it aesthetically pleasing, it seems very sturdy. I own a few other Speedball products such as the Lino Cutter Tool and I have yet to be disappointed with Speedball. I have had little experience with barens because I have had access to a print studio with full size printing presses; however, I can safely say that this is a great product for those who may not have full sized printing presses or just want to try a simpler method of block printing. I can definintley see myself using this baren way in the future!
