Greater than one weekI have a trim around my fireplace that hides the gas valve and the short key that normally comes standard, didnt fit well at all. This key solved my problem and just makes the valve easier to operate period. Granted youd never want to leave this key in the valve like many people do with the smaller keys but it really shouldnt be left in anyway.

> 3 dayThis gas key fits the valve stem and operates it, but it doesnt fit very tightly at all. My other gas keys are a much better fit. This might be a consequence of the universal design which aims to fit both 1/4 and 5/16 valves. You may want to avoid the floppy fit by buying a valve key thats sized exactly for your valve.

How to Use the Gas Valve Key?
With just a twist of your wrist you can turn on your gas fireplace with our gas valve key.
Simply insert the key into the escutcheon (which is the protective cover for your gas valve stem), then twist the key in order to open and close the valve. Remember to apply the rule "righty-tighty, lefty-loosey" - turning the key to the left will open the valve (turn on the gas). Afterward, you"ll simply turn the key to the right to close the valve (shut off the gas).
