Im definitely no proponent for using the metric system in the United States. However, when it comes to construction and other homeowners projects, metrics cant be beaten when it comes to measuring and dividing measurements.

measuring in millimeters is so much easier than dealing with fractions. An inch / metric combo is okay except for the time when you need the register marks to span the entire width of the tape blade.

A 10-meter tape measure put out by Stanley. It came from Germany and its great, No more fractions to remember.

Only tape measures I buy. Needed metric in the states. Couldnt even order it through the Stanley rep here. This UK seller got it to me quickly, especially considering customs.
