Ive mostly done the two player coop game type, and I really like it. The one time I did the four player competitive version that was good too.

Pretty great more duplicates than colony wars so a little less variety , play style is geared more towards using one main faction but over fun and 4 can play so hey why not? Boss cards look cool too

This is a great game, one of my favorites. I also enjoy the new cards.

This game packs a LOT of value in a small box! Its a deck building game where all players start with decks of the same weak cards. Some cards give you points to buy better cards, some give you points to use against the enemy, some give you more life points. The better cards are in a row of five on the table and each player during their turn can use whatever buying points they have to buy whatever they can afford. Whenever a card is bought, it is immediately replaced by a new card from the large deck of purchase cards, so the purchase row is never empty. Then the player uses their attack points on the enemy. This goes on until the enemy is defeated or the last player is. This version of Star Realms includes several cards that set up an enemy to defeat and rules for how it acts during its turn. This allows you to play solo games against these various threats. Groups can also play against these threats, so each player is fighting a common enemy instead of fighting against each other. This co-op style of play can help avoid any hurt feelings or resentment if you have kids (or even adults) who might get grumpy about losing often. If they get knocked out of the game, it was the common enemy that did them in - not someone sitting at the table with them. Or 2 to 4 players can have a good time just battling each other. Ive never been in a game with more than 2 players, so cant comment on how it plays with 3 or 4. This is a nice small-box game that stores easily but contains a good bit of variety in its gameplay. Easy to take with you to a friends house or to a coffee shop or on vacation! There are a few reasonably priced expansions you can buy in the future if you feel like adding more variety, but this set contains everything you need to have a lot of fun for a great price.

Great game all around. My wife didnt love it at first as a 2 player game, but once she figured out the strategy aspect she loved it. We now play it 3-4x a week. Weve played 4 players only once, but the gameplay held up fine. Definitely worth it!

Fast to learn. Fast and easy to setup. Small box that does not consume lots of storage space. Comes with solo, co-op and competitive mode. Whats not to like?

If you are new to Star Realms or considering acquiring a deck I would recommend this version over the original. While its true the cards are slightly different, it plays by the same rules and the cards are only slightly different. However, Frontiers is significantly cheaper than the original version. It comes with enough cards for a 4 player game, while the base version only supports 2 players. You also get solo and co-op missions in this pack, which is another bonus not included in the original version. This is a standalone expansion so you really dont need an original deck.

    Great

Star Realms: Frontiers is a new standalone Star Realms game with an 80-card trade deck and new scorecards that"s suitable for play with up to four players. It can be combined with Star Realms and/or Star Realms: Colony Wars. Star Realms is a fast-paced game of space battles that combines the fun of a deckbuilding game with the interactivity of Trading Card Game-style combat. As you play, you make use of Trade to acquire new Ships and Bases from the cards being turned face up in the Trade Row. You use the Ships and Bases you acquire to either generate more Trade, or to generate Combat to attack your opponent and their Bases. When you reduce your opponent’s score (called Authority) to zero, you win! Battle your friends or team up to play cooperatively against the game!
