I got the toned tan and I do like the background color. It makes me think more clearly about what tones I need to use in the image I am creating. Not good for wet media. I am glad the text says the binding allows the pages to lay flatter ... definitely not flat. Flatter than a closed book, flatter than the state of Colorado, not flatter than a pancake.

I am using this in a journaling class called Draw Your Awesome Year given by Joanne Sharpe. Well be filling the whole book during the year. I love the paper and the size for a years worth of drawings and notes so will definitely be buying more of these. I wish the covers came in more colors. Why do the companies think we all are happy with black??

This journal is really nice, the hard cover is beautiful, it opens flat and the paper is nice and thick but there is a problem wuth the sketcbook, the pages are not double-sided i mean that: you have one page and on one side of the page you have your nice watercolor cold press surface to work on (which is really nice in my opinion) but in the other side of the page is like the back of the actual cold press sheet. The back side of the page has something that is kinda water-resistant so when the paint you lay there takes forever to dry and it dry kinda weird. So the sketchbook has 48 pages but you just have 24 proper sheets to paint with. I would buy it agaij just if strathmore fix that because the watercolor cold press surface its really nice to work with but as half of the pages are useless the number a pages reduces to 24 and that wont last you a long time so i really hope they fix that problem!

Ive worked with many different types of watercolor paper and I am disappointed with the quality and how it doesnt take watercolor paint well as its shown to do. Waste of money. The paint lays down blotchy and unflattering. Id honestly like a refund or something.

No brainer to buy on line. This is exactly what I needed. Could not think of anything that could be different or improved so I gave it 5 stars.

Wonderful hardcover drawing, painting, sketching, anything you want book. Its just right to put in your purse. As a beginner to arts and crafts, drawing. Etc. This little book has very high quality paper and is thicker and more sturdy than the average sketch book. I will buy the larger one next time just to have more room. I highly reccomend this for everyone. I will journal, draw, paint,doodle in this very lovely book like pad.

I had bought the biggest one which only has 48 pages yet the pages are huge so you can definitely fit many drawings on one page. The pages are very smooth and clean, and are slightly thick. I’ve used sakura pigma brushes and so far it hasn’t bled through! I’ve also used Posca markers (paint markers) on them and it doesn’t show up on the page behind the drawing! I would totally recommend buying this.

Great larger size sheets. Quality is solid. The best part is the value for number of sheets when compared to other products.

I love strathmore paper. The mixed media paper is perfect for watercolor, gouache, collage, maker, ink. I love that even the hardbound strathmore books open up flat without the pages coming out! Amazing quality!
