    The Streamlight series of flashlights have been a fire department standard for many years and this latest generation has improved on an already great light. For those who do not know, the right angle is to allow the light to be worn attached to the bunker coat and projecting forward for hands free use. The use of a LED has dramatically improved the battery life compared to a halogen bulb and provides a clean white light. The amount of light produced is impressive, as well as the distance the beam is useful. We have a large water tower beside our station and this single light can illuminate the tower at night from several hundred feed away. I have never utilized the low beam or flashing patterns except when demonstrating the light to others, for me the high intensity is most useful.

    The packaging was unacceptable. In came in the original boxed, unsealed. Very easy to just open. The light is very bright. I havent been able to put it to active use yet, so I cannot review battery life or durability.

The Streamlight Survivor LED (Alkaline Model) is a lightweight, hand-held light with a right-angle head designed for use in hazardous locations. The light offers microprocessor-controlled high and low lighting modes and emergency flash mode. It is the Brightest, Right-Angle LED Flashlight in the World. The Luxeon LED will never break or burn out, it"ll never have to be replaced. This ultra-bright, 3-watt Luxeon LED has a 50,000-hour life with 65 lumens. There is no need for a spare bulb. The deep-dish, parabolic beam generator creates a long-range (500 feet), focused beam, and ample side lighting for multi-use applications. It"s weatherproof, microprocessor-controlled, the push-button switch is raised to make it easy to use with gloves.
