This is the first time Ive used this thread for loom beading. The thread performs well with few tangles and good strength. I love the look of the finished product too. However, the one things I dont like is that the black color comes off on your hands as it runs through your fingers while warping a beading loom. I end up with all these black lines on my hands where Ive held the tension on the thread. Its noteworthy that it doesnt come off easily even with dawn dish soap. Id 100% leave a 5 star rating if they could fix that problem for me.

Works great, but the black transfers pretty easily and gets all over my hands when I use for beading.

When you want to create necklaces or bracelets quickly and efficiently, Fireline is up to the task. This is a microfused, braided bead thread consisting of Dyneema, a gel-spun polyethylene which is known as the strongest fiber, per diameter, ever created. It has an unbelievably high tensile strength and has been recommended in numerous how-to articles on beadworking. Originally used in the fishing industry as a strong fishing line, the thread was adopted by the jewelry making community and has been super popular ever since. Fireline comes in 5 sizes: 2lb. test strength with a .003”/.07mm diameter, 4lb. test with a .005”/.12mm diameter, 6lb. test with a .006”/.15mm diameter, 8lb. test with a .007”/.17mm diameter, 10lb. test with a .008”/.20mm diameters and 14lb. test with a .009”/.22mm diameter. The spools come in a variety of lengths and in 3 colors: clear, black and smoke grey. For stringing and weaving we suggest English beading needles. Use a #12 for 2-6lb. test and a #10 for larger diameters. To finish off your Fireline jewelry your best option is a thread burner. The Beadsmith Thread Zappers are a perfect solution. You can control exactly where the heat is applied. Tie a knot to finish your project and burn the end. A small ball will form on the melted end, preventing the knot from untying.

FIRELINE:

This is a microfused, braided bead thread consisting of Dyneema, a gel-spun polyethylene which is known as the strongest fiber, per diameter, ever created. It has an unbelievably high tensile strength and has been recommended in numerous how-to articles on beadworking.

EASY FINISH:

Because this is a super strong material, we recommend using sharp, precise scissors for cutting the string. However, the thread can also be burned instead of snipping. A thread burner is easier to use and more precise. This method seals the ends, which prevents frayed edges or split ends.

VERSATILE:

Originally used by fisherman as a high-quality fishing line, this thread took off in the jewelry making world. It can be threaded on a needle and used for stringing or bead weaving. The thread does not stretch, or tangle and the strength of the cord is essential when working with heavier beads and findings.
