I’m using this unit alongside a dream machine to provide Wi-Fi at a fairly large cabin in northern Michigan. It took quite a bit of work with technical support in order to get the system operational, this unit kept dropping off of the mesh net work. Using nothing but default settings it seem to work OK with a few tweaks. Significantly less than 600 feet of service from on top of a hill, I’m probably more like 200 to 250

Easy to install WiFi strong

Ive been using Unifi for a long time but so far these mesh products are garbage. The old outdoor AP+ units worked great and I have been using them for years without problems but they stopped making them. I bought one of these new APs to fill in a hole I have in my wifi coverage, but getting it to adopt was a challenge, and now, no devices are connecting to it. That makes no sense since the other access points are farther away and were giving weak signal, which was why I added this new AP.

Just installed this today, it took a million times longer to run the cable than to get this hooked up and set up. We have UniFi devices already, it took less than a minute to get into the console and adopt this AP once it was connected. Signal strength is fantastic, we mounted this inside a walk-in fridge (never gets below ~36 degrees F) and it covers the entirety of the walk-in and has enough strength to emanate outside the cooler enough to make the transition seamless. Very happy with this purchase! Dont forget to feed the ethernet through the jacket before crimping it!

This is the first time I had added a device to my existing UBNT network since all of the software upgrades. I simply plugged in to the switch using PoE, opened the app on my iPhone and the system immediately asked me if I wanted to adopt the new access point. Very well done and an amazing improvement from the old days of the hit0and-miss adoption routines. Well done Ubiquiti Networks! The outdoor coverage is amazing! Every bit of the coverage advertised.

I purchased this AP to help spread signal across my 5 acre parcel. With the AP in the center, it should easily reach the outer edges which are approx 300. Even with a direct LoS, at about 100ft my signal drops to next to nothing. This was a pretty disappointing purchase. My Asus Router has a better coverage than this outdoor AP.
