The uGreen Ethernet Adapter is the best alternative on the market. In addition of excellent construction in aluminum, I use it on my Nintendo switch, my windows laptop and my Airbook. This Ethernet adapter never fails.

Does not work for MacBook. We tried the driver they sent AND the driver on this companies website. Dont go the cheap route like we tried. Buy the actual lightning adapter for 10$ more.

My company recommends plugging in through a LAN rather than WiFi. However, my new laptop (as most new ones) does not come with an ethernet port. I use this when working online especially video conferencing as I need the connection to be consistent and reliable.

Status light is great, having to install a driver for os x not so much. Runs fine but found that the usb hub within my monitor did not always allow it it be recognized. Direct attached to my Mac laptop is the best scenario.

I bought this for my Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5 after realizing that little laptops don’t have Ethernet ports anymore. I get great speed on my home network, which was my main goal. I hadn’t even thought about my Switch when I ordered it, but I plugged it in to see if it would even work and now I can actually play Switch Online without horrible lag! It seems like it was designed to go with the Switch, the cable is the perfect length to hang out the side of the dock. It was instant plug and play on both devices. There are a lot of items to wade through in this product category and it’s hard to tell if what you’re ordering is actually going to be decent quality, but I think I found the winner.

UGreen does not have any updated drivers to run their devices on macOS Big Sur 11.0. This new update for Mac changes the driver use of Kext to Dext. They just haven’t caught up and developed the driver for Mac. My recommendation is to avoid their products until they can actually work. Don’t bother contacting their customer service either. They seemed oblivious to their own problem and were not able to answer any of my questions or provide a solution. While it took a week of waiting for responses to decide to just cut my losses. Save your money. I found a USB to Ethernet adapter from Uni that does work with macOS Big Sur out of the box with no driver downloads.

I feel like an idiot for trying to save money and buying this piece of junk. I should have just paid the extra $15 for the Apple one. The Apple one is plug-and-play. This one needs extra drivers installed which you need to disable system integrity protections just to install (which needs a reboot) and then it doesnt even work. The misspellings in the installation dialog should have tipped me off to the fact that this thing belongs in the trash, but instead I tried to install it and get it working. Ever since installing the drivers, my Mac now reboots twice every time I try to restart it. It reboots the first time then reboots again after 20 seconds. After that, its fine. At some point I need to dig into the logs and see what is causing this, but Id swear its from this adapter, since I never saw this behavior before disabling system integrity protections and installing the driver. Anyway, the adapter worked once briefly then didnt work at all. Uninstalled it by running the uninstaller (with more misspellings in the dialog). The device was still present in Network and I still have my reboot issue. Great. Now I probably junked up my Mac with some unremovable crapware. Dont be like me. Pay the extra $15 for the official Apple adapter and spare yourself the pain.

Works great with my switch, didnt even need to go into the menus to swap for wired mode.

Total junk. Got super hot to the point it was uncomfortable to touch and wouldn’t detect that a cable was connected. Tried multiple cables, computers, and other connection points. Messed up my switch and had to reboot the switch. Don’t buy this!

I was getting around 14Mbps on Wifi on my Switch. Once I plugged this adapter in, it went up to 40Mbps. Now Im typically getting 100Mbps down from my ISP, but its still a big improvement. Ive heard thats because the Switch itself is limiting the speed, and not the adapter.
