Did not come with an ac charger... eats batteries after only an hour or two....

just received my scanner and programmed it and now i will see how well it works. ...That was friday,it is now sunday,so in two days I can say I can say i am still happy. Am delighted that i can plug in the usb cord to the power adaptor and take the batteries out and it still works.I havent gotten out and about yet with my 75xlt,but am sure it will provide lots of scanner type of entertainment....So far so good.

SO happy I purchased this tiny little powerhouse! I have always had a large desktop scanner or even a few base scanners (huge, heavy things). This is right on my nightstand next to my telephone and I enjoy it every single evening without fail. Easy to SEARCH then find the frequencies you like and set them up in the BANKS so you can SCAN. I didnt have any problems at all and know I will enjoy this while out in the back woods or camping or taking along on trips. Excellent purchase.

Also, this particular scanner, is not a digital scanner, like it is listed. It is analog. I am on able to pick up anything, in my area. TI just wish as a blind person that the blind erson could program the scanner without sighted help. I dont remember the brand name of the scanner but you can program it and it talks

The Bearcat BC75XLT is a great starter scanner for the beginner. I am finding this device to be a huge asset when it comes to knowing what is going on around me. Search my name, the make and model of this scanner on Youtube for a complete in-depth video presentation. Features I like about this radio: * Searching through the VHF/UHF frequencies is very fast. * 300 Memory Channels * Priority Channel mode. * Close Call mode. * Great reception when compared to my other HTs. * Customized Search feature that can be done directly on the radio. * Ten Service Bands, makes finding certain frequencies that much quicker. * Delay...oh how you need this. * Good build quality. * Uses 2 AA batteries, either Alkaline or NiMH. * Smart Charger built in for the NiMH batteries. * USB power can supply the radio enough power to run without battteries. * USB connectivity to the computer for downloading and uploading data to the scanner. Free software download. * Included USB cable. * Headphone jack is excellent, no noise, clean sound. * Nice and evenly lit LCD display. * Scanning stored channels is a breeze, and can be customized. * Temporary and Permanent lock out feature. * Informative Manual, lots of detail. Features that could be added or improved on: * A separate squelch knob would be fantastic. * A monitor button. * A full stop on frequency when searching. This would be nice so you dont have to have your finger resting on the hold button all the time. Overall, for the cost of this portable scanner, I am very impressed and recommend this as a first scanner to purchase and learn with. Just enough to keep you busy for months. I am surprised by the amount of analog activity that still exists around me.

It is the best scanner for your money.

I saw some reviews that described this scanner as not being able to get good reception on distant transmissions or good battery life. Well,, I get aircraft traffic from an airport 10 miles away not to mention my local airport 5 miles to the south. I have had the radio on for 3 days for 2-3 hours at a time until the low battery alert came on. This is a nice little scanner and the volume is loud at full blast. I also live in an aluminum sided mobile home and it works great inside the house too. I have not done much scanning with it as I know each frequency that I want to listen to so cannot comment on this function other than it picks up our local police just fine.

Purchased to use for nascar race seeing it was about the same cost to buy as to rent headsets for the weekend. Worked great all weekend on one set of batteries.

This syncs to your pc and allows you to easily and quickly fill all the banks with custom freq sets you can create and store on your pc. Battery will last a whole day of nascar which is what I bought it for, but no more than that so stock up on batteries. Wish the controls were quicker to use. Assigning priorities and switching banks is a pain.
