> 3 dayI initially posted the following scathing review with one star. It served its purpose for six months, but now the computer no longer recognises it. The blue light indicates that its taking power from the computer, but each time I connect it, I get a USB device not recognized message. However, a change of USB cable seems to have fixed the problem. Ill upgrade to 4*. Ill withhold the fifth star on the gounds that the original USB cable seems suspect.

Greater than one weekIts working like a dream. The only real review critique I can give is I wish it was a little less expensive and had more room on it. Otherwise its doing just fine. Ive only had this thing for a week, therefore I cant say how long it will last but will update if it becomes an issue.

Greater than one weekBlazing fast transfer speeds with USB-C, works with Mac (using Monterey) right out of the box. I have used Samsung T7 (2GB) and also SanDisk Extreme 2GB and 4GB externals drives (also USB-C) and while this 4GB VectoTech Rapid is a bit (slightly) bigger than either of them, its slim profile is still easy to transport and it works better and faster.

> 3 dayLike many people, I have 100s of gigs of pictures and movies with more piling up every year. I was storing them on regular hard drives. I found myself backing up drives on other drives in fear of one of the drives crashing. Ive tried the cloud but that is slow and usually involves having to reorganize all the files again. A daunting task to say the least. I bought the Vectotech SSD 1TB in hopes of solving this problem. Thankfully it worked. All my photos and videos are conveintly stored on this one drive with files intact. I dont have to worry about using band width to upload photos, and the drive is sturdy enough to bring with me to share. It is very fast and I love it. I highly recommend this product.

> 3 day[Edited] I bought the 1TB version of this product for video editing purposes, and on arrival, found it to be woefully slow - less than 10% as fast as expected. I returned it, and was then offered a free 512GB model instead. Once that arrived, I was pleasantly surprised to see that the rated speed was much higher - as high as 350MB/s read and write when formatted as exFAT. After filling up the drive about 90% full, the write speed dropped significantly (to 34MB/s) but the read speed stayed fairly high. Both drives were lightweight, drop resistant, and came with nice USB-A and USB-C cables. [Original] The description for this product lists it as a 1TB SSD with up to 450MB/s transfer speeds. When tested on multiple different computers, via both USB-A and USB-C (and formatted as both exFAT and HFS+), the fastest possible read and write speeds I could get were around 43MB/s - less than 10% of the rated speed. This is worse performance than Ive seen from a single SD card, let alone an SSD that costs more than $100.

Greater than one weekI purchased this to add iCloud Drive, Documents and files from various external drives all together on this and it is super quick and worked flawlessly so far. Will be purchasing another one for Time Machine backups for a redundant copy of my files.

> 3 dayGot it, plugged it in, formatted it and everything just worked. Excellent experience. Now well just have to wait for some months to see if it keeps working. A previous drive from another vendor quit working after 6 months.

Greater than one weekMy original drive appeared to have a bad controller in that it would report a corrupt file system at least once a week. Reformatting the drive would allow data to be written, but it would become corrupt again after a few days. Im happy to report that VectoTech provides excellent support for their products. They provided a pre-paid shipping label and sent a new drive even though initial testing didnt duplicate the issue. Probably due to time constraints. The new drive is working without issue and is used to store games from Steam, Epic, etc. Performance is excellent via USB-C cable and I would highly recommend this product.

> 3 daySo far so good on performance from this drive. Now I should mention that I only see around 40mb/s when transferring files, but that is pretty normal from my experience. It will get up to around 120mb/s on occasion, but that is rare. This is transferring from one SSD to another and splits if I am transferring multiple files. Clearly Im no tech genius, but this works for me. I like SSDs for the stability and small size, so I had to ding this one a star for the size. I actually bought it at the same time as a Seagate SSD and thought the Seagate was my safe bet since I had very good past experiences with them. The Seagate, however, gives me scares by loading the files very slow at times. The drive folder will open and only a Seagate file I keep in it with my actual data shows at first... not so comforting. With the Seagate the other files have been there so far, they just take longer to load I guess than any other drive Ive used. With this VectoTech they are there immediately upon opening the folder. Im impressed and thinking about purchasing more in the future, I just wish they were smaller. It feels a bit hollow like they could cut down on the size, but maybe the size is part of why it works well.

> 3 dayFound the speeds of the product to be great and used it consistently for quite a while. Had some trouble getting my laptop to read the drive and was sent a replacement shortly after sending to their support team. Very happy with this one.
