> 24 hourBought this monitor a few months ago. Its great for several reasons: Sound sensitivity: we are first-time parents and like many parenting noobs, purchased an expensive video monitor. Turns out, the main feature we care about is filtering out all of our daughters tiny noises through the night (while still hearing her cries). The video monitor had no such sound filtering - but thankfully, this does. This audio monitor does exactly what we want. I have the sound sensitivity set to the lowest level so I dont hear her weird grunting or loud breathing. Just the cries. I never wake up to non-crying. I have it on volume 3. I tried the vibrate mode but it was too intense and loud for me. Further, Id read in the comments that it filters out the white noise and doesnt alert you to that; that has been true for us, too. The monitor doesnt alert us to the sound of the white noise machine. Good battery. It hasnt died on any night yet. You cant beat the price for the features and reliability. Also, fun hack: baby is now sleeping better so I really only want the monitor on after like 1 am. She occasionally cries in the 9 pm to 11 pm window for a minute or two but goes back to sleep. This is SUPER annoying to wake up to. So I plugged the monitor power cord into our old school christmas tree lights timer. When the monitor is connected to power, it turns on, so I schedule the timer to turn on at 1 am. It connects power, and the monitor turns on. No more early night cries waking me up, only the later night cries that may actually require intervention. Dont know of many babies who do this, but hopefully this helps someone. Its been a lifesaver for us.

> 24 hourA few years ago I bought this for my wife who had joint replacement surgery. I put it in the bedroom where she was sleeping, so I could hear if she needed assistance. She just had another surgery recently, so I took it out of the closet, recharged the parent unit, and everythings working fine. Very nice unit, compact size. The parent unit has a little clip, so you can wear it on your person. Also it has a talk back, so you can communicate to your loved one/baby if needed. Im very happy with it.

> 24 hourWe originally registered for a video monitor for our nursery and got it, but once the baby came, we realized it was really inconvenient not to have a monitor in our bedroom since he was sleeping in there in his bassinet. We also found ourselves needing a monitor when we went to our families lake house and wanted to sit on the patio after putting him to bed in our bedroom. These monitors are fantastic. The baby monitor has to be plugged in, but the parent monitor does not. It has chargeable batteries. My mom had an older model from vtech and the parent monitor has to be plugged in too. We love that the parent monitor is able to be charged and portable. It creates so much more flexibility. I find myself putting my ear to the monitor to make sure it is still working even though it is linked, but every time Im linked and realize what a great feature it is, they dont make the background noice like a sleep machine loud on the parent monitor, it only reacts when a loud noice happens like the baby moves or cries out which makes trying to hold a conversation so much easier. I would highly recommend these monitors. IT has been key while our 4 month old continues to sleep in our room and any trip they are the first thing we pack into the diaper bag. Hope you enjoy them as much as we have!

> 24 hourLove this monitor! We always run white noise in our nursery and were looking for a monitor that would filter out that background noise better than the video monitor we have. This one does that quite well. There is a little static in the background because of our white noise machine but it is relatively quiet. It picks up our babys noises from the background without issue and amplifies them so its easy to hear him. I havent tried the feature where it alerts when there is a sound. I just keep the monitor on whenever my baby is asleep and turn it to the volume level I want so I can always hear whats going on. Range is good. Battery is quite good. I only charge it at night. Highly recommend!!

> 24 hourWorks very well, just as described.

> 24 hourOnly the receiver unit, not the baby unit is battery powered. They should have made both battery powered. Finding a plug every time is a hassle.

> 24 hourWas looking for an audio-only monitor. Most monitors nowadays seem to have a camera installed, and I did not want to spend the extra money for that, as it was not needed. This fit the bill perfectly, and functions quite nicely. Clear audio and beyond easy to operate.

> 24 hourThis works fine, and does the job for which I procured it. I should point out that I am not using it in the traditional way - i.e., to monitor a baby. Rather I am using it to monitor a dog that has a pronounced fear of thunderstorms (not unusual for dogs). I crate my dogs at night in another part of the house. If a thunderstorm arises during the night, my dog will panic and try desperately to escape her (wire) crate. The baby monitor allows me to keep tabs on her during the night, if thunderstorms are likely (I dont use it every night) and I will be awakened by her attempts to escape and can come to her rescue. The baby monitor sender and receiver link with no problems (theyre about 30 feet apart through interior walls). Sound quality is very good, and there is no background noise. So the only time you hear anything from the receiver is when there is actually sound being picked up by the sending unit. The sensitivity can be adjusted to pick up very small sounds or to only pick up louder sounds. My only complaint is that turning the receiver ON and OFF isnt easy. The directions say to Press and hold the power button to turn the unit ON, and Press and hold the power button to turn the unit OFF. However, there is no visual indication of power ON or OFF, and no feedback letting you know which state the unit is in. So it can be a bit tricky to turn it ON, but especially to turn it OFF. A minor annoyance, to be sure, but it points out a design flaw - it should be easier to turn the unit ON/OFF, and there should be a more definitive feedback indicating what state the unit is in.
