I bought one of these three years ago, to use as a backup drive. Its fast and reliable, and I can store it in a small space. Im about to order another, because have a need for more backups.

It doesnt automatically load, I have to drag each individual folder/document to the drive if I want to backup. When calling the company for assistance, the first rep told me yes, it was possible to copy multiple documents and gave me instructions. It didnt work and I had to call back. This rep said that wasnt possible and everything had to be transferred manually. I tried using the online submission to update my incident hoping that maybe someone would be able to understand what i was asking but somehow my request was converted to me asking how to transfer from my PC to a Mac ??? I never mentioned a Mac. Unfortunately, by the time I got around to using this SSD, my return window had already closed. So, now Im back to backing up to the Cloud - something I was trying to get away from when I purchased this drive. Incredibly disappointed and absolutely would not recommend this product.

Light and durable. Cheaper than Samsung T5, but the speed is a little slower too. One thing I dont like is that the cable given is too short compared to other brands.

Wow. I was told both by a specialist who upgrades computers and knowledgable friend that using an SDD external drive would not speed up my computer. Wrong. I moved my entire operating system and cloned my internal drive to this thing and it is lightning fast. Apps that used to bounce on my iMac for 15-30 seconds now open almost as fast as they are clicked. Just look up the specs on your computer and make sure you have at least USB 3.0 (thats what I have). Otherwise youll get external bottleneck from the USB connection and it wont make a difference. To reiterate- this thing can make your computer outrageously fast. My internal drive has officially been relegated to the dust bin. I may use it for extra storage in the future.

No complaints here. Been working great so far. I use it all the time to run certain software files off of, since my laptop HD isnt the largest. Heats up a tad after several hours, but thats about it.

Fast, small, light, and the size surprised me enough that I took my wifes key and put it beside it to take a picture. Just what I wanted for when Im traveling, and what I wanted for a physical backup of data from my Mac. This makes the third copy of data in three formats easy and painless. It took about 10 minutes to copy 150 gigs. I cant speak to the durability yet since Ive only had it a few days, but with no moving parts like a HDD would have, Id guess itll be durable over time.

This unit comes with a double ended USB C cord and a USB C to USB A adapter. The Read/Write speed using the USB adapter was 444/435.7. One interesting fact is that the adapter that comes with this unit is far superior to aftermarket versions, so dont loose it.

All works fine, only thing is that it just doesnt get to the max speed listed in the specs, not real life proof... There are some lexar SSDs that go up to 900mbps... This one is listed as 540mbps but it often works at 300 or so... Yet I give it 4 stars because who needs that stupid high speed, it works fine.

Its size really amazing. Very compact and easy to carry in a small case. Also it comes with USB C to USB 2 converter that really nice of it.

I bought two of these WD 2TB SSD external drives in 2019. I use them for music archiving and playback on my internet radio show. I take good care of them, store them in a cool place, never have dropped them and dont expose them to temperature extremes or crazy high humidity. I can say with confidence that with reasonable care these will give you great, reliable.service for years. On another note I also own an older WD desktop external drive that I bought in 2015...it continues to work well and without issues. As an archivist I always say that if youre going to put all your valuable stuff on external drives, buy two and keep them identical. Never put all your eggs in one basket!

The My Passport SSD is portable storage with blazing-fast transfers. Password protection with hardware encryption helps keep your content secure. Easy to use, the My Passport SSD is shock-resistant, compact storage in a cool, durable design.
