Greater than one weekWe needed to replace our wooden caps that crumbled in the heat and sun. These are perfect and will last a lot longer. You do need to screw them in to make them stay on as they are bigger than your post so the water runs off without hitting the wood. My husband replaced 12 of them in a less than 15 minutes.
