Western Digital 4TB WD Purple Surveillance Internal Hard Drive HDD - SATA 6 Gb/s, 256 MB Cache, 3.5 - WD42PURZ

Received the Hard Drive when expected. Very easy to install and cant hear it run. Easy to format and had it up and running in a couple of minutes.

The drives a piece of junk. DOA. The motor doesnt even seem to spin. It was purchased supposedly new from HardDriveGeeks through Amazon.

It feels like my system is running smoother faster and obviously more storage I think it was worth the upgrade especially considering how much you invest in your camera system!!

Did research on my NVR and is recommended either this one or the Skyhawk for about $20 more dollars I received the hard drive about 1 to 1 1/2 weeks earlier. Easy to install and no issues

I’d purchased a larger capacity drive for my UniFi UDM-Pro, which sits on the top shelf in my TV room. It was speedy, but so loud that there was constant noise over the TV unless at very high volumes. Switching to the WD Purple made that noise vanish instantly and it’s been just as good at recording my doorbell camera. If you need a reliable and above all QUIET hard drive, the Purple line is for you.

I wasn’t sure if it was necessary getting this specific one for the task, but it honestly was the best decision I made. I have a home networked security camera system and this was the perfect choice!

Just stop working after 7 days of use. Warranty process is very critical.
