Whiteside Router Bits 3001 Template Bit with Ball Bearing

Whiteside bits are great! I own several and have never been let down.

I used this Whiteside Bit for mortising hinges on a cabinet I am building, using a guide template. The bit cuts very smooth mortise bottoms. The cut actually looks polished. Also the bit is exactly the same size as the guide bearing, which means there is little chisel work cleanup. just the corners. I like the accuracy.

For the money, this is by far one of the best values for this type of router bit. Highly recommend it if you need this type of bit. Very sharp and has stayed sharp. You can tell when you look at it in person, it is a high quality bit, not like many of the cheaply manufactured bits you can get online.

I purchased the same bit at three different cut depth: Whiteside model #3000, #3001 and #3004. Be aware they are not for heavy work like (typically found at) Carpentry but they have place for furniture and cabinet making. I love to have all of them as it is easy to work with quite similar bits with interchanged bearings. I just work with the smaller of them, the #3000 model and as expected it performed spotless even for very heavy ipe wood. I expect this particular bit is at the same quality level. Strongly recommended.

cuts smooth and clean. used a few times to extend a miter slot on table saw extensions. worked perfectly.

This bit cuts very cleanly. Only needed light edge sanding after making the cut.
