However, by May our dog had learned if he leaned against the buckle while on his lead that the buckle would break away and he could run free. For us this is unacceptable and a risk for our young adopted guy. The collar is said to be tested for this exact feature, yet our 50 lb 2 year old has escaped it several times - we hoped initially that it was user error and something had happened to askew the clasp. FOLLOW UP: Wolfgang replaced the faulty collar for us at no cost once they verified our Amazon purchase. So far, so good with the replacement.
