(500) Days of Summer [DVD] [2009]

Los Angeles: Tom und Summer arbeiten in einem Grußkarten-Verlag und sind 500 Tage mal mehr, mal weniger zusammen. Tom will Bindung, Summer eher nicht. Mit Zooey Deschanel, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Regie Marc Webb (Musikvideospezialist hier mit Kinodebüt).

No explanation really of who Summer’s husband was and why she had a better time with him. All the movie is really about is that the boy fell in love with a girl named Summer then starts to know a girl named Autumn. The little girl who plays soccer is a nice touch, so is Agent Phil as the boss.

Der Film wird allen Nahe gehen, die auch nicht recht an die eine Liebe glauben können, aber noch einen kleinen Funken Hoffnung haben etwas zu erleben, das ihnen das Gegeteil beweist. Wunderschön, aber nicht zu kitschig.

I dont generally like romantic comedies, nor do I watch many movies at all, and I thought 500 Days of Summer was a gem! The actors were carefully chosen and the back and forth nature of the plot kept it interesting.

Its a really good movie i enjoyed it from the beginning to the end

Wenn man mal eine ganz andere Lovestory sehen möchte, dann ist das genau der richtige Film - überraschend, witzig und auf dem Boden der Tatsachen.

The films opening makes it clear: This is not a love story. It is a story about love. Told in a non chronological fashion, we see 500 days in the relationship of Tom (Joseph Gordon- Levitt) and Summer (Zooey Deschanel). For those who have seen 10 Things I Hate About You, this is an evolution of that story told in a more realistic fashion. While Joseph Gordon-Levitt pretty much plays the same character, he adds gravitas to the ups and downs of relationships which all men go through at some point. Zooey Deschanel brings her playful carefree attitude to Summer, which the movie itself is quick to point out has a very strong effect over men. While most people expect this to be a love story, its not. Its a carefully crafted story about relationships and the highs and lows we all experience and how we focus on the highs more than the lows. The quirky humor and the wittiness brought out in the film covers the very introspective dissection of a relationship. While the ending is somewhat expected, it serves as the movies last laugh. A must see for romantics, indie film appreciators and mainstream audiences alike, this movie is the guide to growing up all boys need to become men. Especially, once they see the Plate scene. Check it out!

A fantastic, feel good movie. Finally a movie that actually shows the real young-adult perspective. I would recomend this love story (oh yea,this is not a love story. to absolutely anyone old enough to watch. AMAZING SOUNDTRACK!
