Amazon Basics Smart Plug Power Strip, Surge Protector with 3 Individually Controlled Outlets and 2 USB Ports, 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, Works with Alexa

I like that it has a surge protector. And you can control each socket individually, although I hoped you can control the usb individually too. It is alittle heavier than most powerstrip which makes it feel more solid. I have been using it for over 2 months and so far no problem. Also note that this is for light to medium use. Do not use it for power hungry appliances like space heaters.

Sturdy

Purchased this to replace a traditional timer plugged into an outlet that was being used for our lizard cage. Someone, or a pet, would inevitably press the timer settings and cause the lights not to go on when needed (or the device would just fail on its own). This was the first smart strip I purchased. Super happy with it. The Alexa integration to setup the routines was super easy to configure. This has worked perfectly to turn on and off the outlets (lights) exactly when needed. Highly recommend for similar applications.

Purchased this for my 3d peinter set up incase a print started failing and im not home i can shut it off with my phone. I love the two usb ports so I can charge my devices while I work. I now have two!

Easy to setup and add to Alexa app. I have humidifier and ‘white noise’ machine connected to it. I created a routine to turn those on, plus two lamps that have smart bulbs. Even though Alexa app knows the two things plugged into this power strip are not lights, when I say ‘turn off the bedroom lamps’ it will turn the strip off. I’m not sure why. But really not a huge deal. I mean, I just say to turn it back on or off or whatever. I love the two USB ports! Great to have close by for charging devices. The cord on the thing could be a bit longer. But it works.

We have this plugged into our wall and microwave that cant reach the outlet plugged into it. If the microwave goes on lumber that 2 mums it will pop the surge protector without fail. Every time. I like that it works but I feel like I still got a defective one with how often it pops.

I was going to buy a wifi extender since my new cable router is a smart cable router that my old smart home plug wouldn’t work. I wanted to connect my new lamps to Alexa. With this extension cord which made things more convenient not only was I able to comfortable set up my lamps, the connection to Alexa was seamless. Thanks, Amazon!

While I couldn’t get the QR code on the user’s guide for this Amazon Basics Power Strip to work, this still took only a couple of minutes to set up. The QR code on the power strip did work, which made setting this up from within the Alexa app very easy. This is really handy for a room that I have with minimal outlets. I can now run extra lights and actually see what I’m doing in there. Even nicer, I can turn them on and off with a simple spoken command. We bought this to plug our Christmas tree &outdoor lights to and its been great! Easily added a routine to Alexa for it and now when we say Alexa lets get festive the tree and lights come on.
