Aubika Elite Strap with Battery and Carrying Case for Oculus Quest 2, Enhanced Comfort and Playtime - Gray

This strap didnt even last 5 months. One of the plastic sides on the strap broke in half (the plastic side band - they are thin & flexible on both sides of the strap). I am very disappointed considering the cost of this item. *** UPDATE *** Shortly after writing this review, the wheel that tightens the strap also fell off. A representative from AUBIKA reached out to me after my initial review and offered to send out a new battery head strap! They sent it out quickly and it only took a few days to arrive. I am very happy they did! Nice to have a company willing to stand behind their product! Thank you, AUBIKA!! :)

I bought this because the battery on the oculus quest 2 isn’t long enough for the time I’d like to play. The strap extends the battery by at least 3 hours which is a perfect amount of playtime. The strap is comfortable while playing for hours and the battery balances the weight of the headset. My one complaint is that the strap is difficult to take off with one hand because the weight of headset makes the gear stop loosening. Overall it’s a very good strap and I would definitely buy again.

My grandson requested this particular headset, and he said it fits great!

This head strap is way better than what comes with the Oculus (Meta) 2. It’s easy to use and kid friendly. Adjusting between players takes seconds to twist the dial and adjust to the new user. Our first one had a minor issue with a single piece. Customer service reached out very promptly and send a completed new headstrap. I was very impressed with their response. I’ve already recommended this to two friends and they are also very happy with their purchase.

***UPDATE: Just wanted to come back and say it’s now been about 2 months and I’m still lovin it! Still going strong! No wear and tear, no shoddy construction, no regrets! Also I’m a hardcore daily user so I’m definitely putting it through its paces. HappyHappyHappy I did about 40 minutes of research before finally deciding on this battery strap. I’ve been using it everyday for about 2 weeks now and I can say I am VERY happy with the purchase! In my research, the Meta strap seems to break on a lot of people. I didn’t want to spend $100 on something just for it to break and have to deal with the horrendous oculus customer service. This one is obviously a knockoff version of that but waaay less cost. The specs are also a little better. Battery life is advertised as boosted to 6 hours. I haven’t set a timer, but I can definitively say if it’s not 6 hours it’s close enough to where it’s not noticeable. A few nights ago we had people over, had a few adult beverages and played. I estimated we started about 5 pm and the headset died about 1030pm. Not to mention we were having a good ol time so we probably weren’t the most careful or gentle when passing the headset back and forth, removing and putting on etc etc and the strap stood up better than expected. Went to a family gathering last night and one of the kids brought his oculus with the elite strap so I checked it out compared to mine. I’ll tell you this.. if the meta elite and the aubika were side by side I’d pick the aubika just on the eye test alone. Seems a lot sturdier. Easy installation, sturdy hard plastic material and a dial in back to loosen/tighten. Very comfortable on the back of the head with the sturdy rubber “head cup” I guess you could call it haha, huuuuge upgrade from the stock strap. Long story short, this is proof there’s other options out there besides the Meta elite, Bobo and kiwi. I feel like I found a hidden gem with the Aubika. 40% cheaper than the Meta with longer battery life and made from sturdier material. Don’t call it a knock off because it’s actually better than what they’re imitating if you ask me. You will not regret this purchase and you can talk smack to the people who spend more money on lower quality hahaha A+ product for this guy.

Review 1 on 03/01/2022: I have had the head strap for a week and used it twice. The head strap appears to be good quality. It seems to charge fast and works well. However, as a 64-year-old senior woman, it is heavy on the back of my head for the 2 times I used it for about 30 minutes. It gives me a headache, so I have to stop and remove it. I could be adjusting it too tight so I am going to continue to play around with it to see if I can figure out the correct adjustment for me so that its not so heavy on the back of my head and gives me that discomfort. Even though it does not look that heavy, that battery on the back is a somewhat heavy for me. Will do a second review in a few days when I try it again. Again, the quality is good thus far and it works well. Review 2 on 03/13/2022: The headstrap continues to be a head strap of good quality and great battery life as the back up power. Love charging it from the battery port so as not to overcharge the headset. Love that the battery port also charges both the head set and the battery pack. I am learning to adjust the head set to the back of my head for better wear. I have gotten accustomed to it now. I definitely would recommend to give it a try if looking for a head strap with a battery pack. I bought this also because that OQ2 headband broke and return to OQ2 and it’s been 4 weeks and have not seen the replacement strap. So happy this force me to buy a better product as far as materials and the quality way it was made as not to have it break apart in certain areas. Review 3 on 03/24/2022: The adjustable head strap knob on the back kept falling out of its port on the back. The headband would automatically drop back down to the smaller size as the adjustable knob would not hold it in the size I had selected so it was not locking the size in place. The black head piece that rests on the back of the head had turned a little so when I put on the oculus I was forced to turn it about an inch to the left side taking me out of focus somewhat. I dealt with it for 3 weeks but finally decided to contact the seller to see what is the fix for it as I enjoyed using this headband. The seller immediately respond to my inquiry as I sent 4 pics for the seller to see my problem. The seller is sending me a new headband and apologize for the inconvenience. You will always have some failures in some products and I understand nothing is perfect however if the seller will work with you to fix the problem, then I can support that seller and his product. So I am impressed with this quick feedback and turnaround. Thank you Seller for your positive and apologetic quick response to replace the product. Review on 04/02/2022: The seller sent a replacement headstrap however, I did not receive it. Since I did not receive it, I requested a refund and returned the broken headstrap and the seller was very accommodating and refunded me my money. Upon request, I did request the tracking number to the package and the tracking number did show it was delivered, however it was not delivered to my address. I filed a complaint with the postal service as the deliverer drop the package at the wrong address. The seller was very easy and accommodating to work with. This was the best customer service and as he stated, he just wanted me happy. If I can get the package back, I will contact the seller to see if he wants me to return. No company is perfect but if customer service works with you to resolve the issue, that is the most excellent customer service. Thank you.

Doubled the life of my oculus and super easy to use. You do need to engage the battery to charge the main headset and to turn it off, which I love because I can ensure I always have battery to play or watch media. Highly recommend this to everyone.

It is a very nice head strap. It charges good too. I had this for about a week and a half and used it maybe 3-4 times so far. It has no damage and is like brand new. But now I have this problem with it today, where their is something shaking inside the strap making noise. The noise is starting to really annoy me as I am trying to relax in vr. I know I didn’t cause this damage because I am really careful with it. It is still a really good head strap and does what it was made to do. It is only this shaking part that is the problem.

Not particularly comparable with docking stations. You’ll have to juggle charging cords and plug in this battery separately from the magnetic dock connector that is common on docks. Other than that minor inconvenience.. it works and feels great
