> 3 dayWe werent sure about an over the shoulder style life jacket, but we couldnt be happier. Using this life jacket, our 16mo daughter is able to independently tread water and propel herself around the pool. Prior to using this life jacket, wed used an under the armpit/arm model (e.g. not over the shoulders) and due to physiology of kids, it was tough to keep the float under the armpits. Weve now used the life jacket all summer and Im happy to report minimal fading and supple fabric. Provided it still fits, we will be using it again next swimming season.

> 3 dayMy 2 1/2 year old loves to swim and this has made his summer. I feel safe with him it in and its given him a lot of confidence. However, we do take it off of him every once in awhile to show him that it is there to help him and without it he cant swim. I highly recommend this life vest!

> 3 dayIMPORTANT: the most important thing is to get your child--no matter how young, in a swimming program. We started ours very early. JUST DO IT: COST WILL BE WORTH IT. With that said: This particular flotation device is great for children who havent yet learned to swim and you want to be sure they will stay up while playing in the water. We have 3-4 years old grandchildren who dont live near by and they were visiting this weekend. Since we have a pool we were not taking a chance. I bought two of these and couldnt be happier. This is better than arm wings ONLY--the added support around the chest keeps them up and makes it possible for them to swim. It keeps them up and allows them to use their arms and legs as the swim. They have a couple of sizes and you have to usually order online. THEY ARE WORTH IT--But swimming lessons are the best defense.
