> 3 dayI bought this for my 2 year old. He’s probably 35 pounds now and it pushes his face go into the water. He loves swimming and can swim fine in his sisters puddle jumper. But with this I had to constantly hold him to push his face up. I couldn’t take my hand off of him. Eventually I put this on his 4 year old sister and put hers on him. He was completely fine without me having to hold him but his sister even had trouble with this. She wouldn’t even wear it. She said it would push he face into the water and it didn’t work good. She ended up swimming without it.

> 3 dayMy two -year old son loves this life jacket. He will wear it around the house in anticipation of swimming. When hes in the pool the shoulder straps keep him with his head above water, even when he jumps into the pool. My older son (who knows how to swim well) put on the life jacket and tried to turn himself upside down, only to have his head pop right back out of the water. I have no doubt that someone could drown with this on, but it wouldnt be easy. The only potential drawback is that it is so effective that it gives our son a bit too much confidence in the water. As a stop-gap until formal swimming lessons it works great.

09-06-2025Our grandson Wyland loves this. He is swimming like a pro, but he knows he has to wear his vest if he wants to go into the water. We know he is safe and its helping him learn how to swim.

Even with other life preservers. This one is different! It keeps his head out of the water and he is learning to swim with it.

> 3 dayWe tried to find a small USCG approved puddle-jumper. While this one still says its rated for 30-50lb on the product itself, the vest portion over the shoulders is a game changer. Our little guy is 30lbs. The puddle jumper we bough without the vest over the shoulders ended up around his waist not working at all. This one is just right. It stays in place and he loves it. He goes and gets it and starts putting it on when he wants to swim. He is able to float in the pool with his head above water, and swim around. Highly recommended.
