> 3 dayI am an airline pilot and I was in need of a solid headset. Now Ive tried these before when I was flying smaller stuff and liked them then, however, I owned a pair of David Clarks. I know DCs make a model that has noise cancellation and I know some others here have commented on them. But just from my own personal experience you get what you pay for from these Bose headsets. I flew around a few months with my standard DCs but when passengers and ground crew are coming in and out of the plane and you are trying to pick up ATIS and clearance or talk to ramp, whatever, the noise can become a clutter. With the noise cancellation it really cleans everything up. When we fly into Mexico and you can hardly understand the controllers, this headset just clears up the communication barrier just enough so you dont have to keep saying huh?...….. fact is, I dropped the $1100 on these because you get what you pay for. A professional headset for the professional pilot. Hope, this review helps with some of the people who are back and forth on the decision.

Greater than one weekMy Wife tried this new headset on flights to Barcelona and Paris on two different 787-10s. While Boeing provides an XLR plug next to the standard two plug outlet, this Bose headset had static the whole flight on both planes.

> 3 dayCan barely tell it is on my head. Very gentle. The headset is so good at canceling noise that I feel somewhat disoriented in the complete and total silence.

> 3 dayThis is a great headset (albeit pricey), however it has some Cons that you need to consider before buying. Sadly, it is not durable enough for regular, professional flying. If youre an airline guy - forget it...its too fragile. For corporate guy flying left and right seat - having to unscrew the mic and swap it when you change seats is very tedious. The headset and cord are very heavy; a fatigue problem on long sectors. Unfortunately the heavyness does not translate into durability - it is not durable product. The ear pads wear out quickly and are expensive to replace and the poorly designed boom mic will quickly wear loose if you do anything with the headset - other that let it sit. In terms of sound quality and performance it is the best and lightyears ahead of David Clark - but my 20 yr old David Clark still works like new while my 4 yr old Bose A20 is in a box in the closet - broken.

> 3 dayBose are for me. Some like light speeds but I’m not a fan. Both are going to do the same but Bose are sleek and streamline. Guess it depends on what you like but I recommend these for sure! These are worth EVERY penny spent.

> 3 dayI already have a Bose A20 headset that I love. I bought this one for any passengers. Not sure that I could do without the Bose noise cancelling. No problem with wearing it for hours at a time. And it fits comfortably over my glasses, and with foggles over my glasses. Great headset.

Greater than one weekI bought these over 10 years ago when they first came out. They have survived 5 years of flight instruction in and out of cessnas all day, and 6 years of airlines. I’ve had 2 issues which were both cable related. Bose remedied these issues as well as replaced everything you could replace while they had them. The headset is phenomenal and by far better than zulus, DC’s with ANC, or anything else out there. If you are looking for headset that delivers, will last, and has top notch customer support, this is it.
