> 3 dayEverything this wheel claims to be is what it says! Loved it! Our little 3 dwarf ham goes potty like crazy while exercising, so it needs to be washed weekly. Only problem is it quit spinning as smooth after its first wash. We even re-oiled the barring and still could not get it working as well as it did the first few days. It ended up being too hard to spin for her, so we had to replace it.

She is on the larger side, and the 10.2 inch size is a perfect fit. It is sturdy, easy to adjust for height, and very truly silent. She uses this without fail every night and it is still working and looking like new. I love how pretty it looks in her enclosure as well. Would highly recommend as a MUST HAVE for any hamster owner. Definitely a very worth while investment.

Why do hamsters need exercise wheels?
Hamsters are very active creatures when they live in the wild. They spend most of their waking time scurrying around to gather food or dig burrows. When they are housed in a cage, this biological programming is not turned off!

- A hamster wheel is essential for weight maintenance. Without enough exercise, your hamster could become obese. This puts a strain on their heart, lungs, and other organs and could shorten their life expectancy.

How to choose the right hamster size?
- It is recommended that you choose a wheel of 8.2 inches for dwarf and Roborovski hamsters and at least 10.2 inches for larger Syrian and other larger hamsters.
- It’s really important that you don’t give your hamster a wheel that is too small for them. The larger a wheel is, the less the hamster has to arch its back and the more similar it is to running on flat ground in the wild.
