09-06-2025The drive itself is fine and works as expected, no issues here. I purchased 2 of these drives to use on my MacBook Pro, which is why the Thunderbolt option was appealing. However what is not mentioned is there is not a Thunderbolt cable, but a very flimsy USB to Thunderbolt adapter, that broke for both my drives and left the metal plug stuck inside of my MacBook Thunderbolt port, which was hard to get out once stuck. Buffalo would only offer to replace the entire drive instead of the cheap adapter, which would have been overkill and too time consuming. If you plan to use the Thunderbolt connection for these drives you may want to factor in the cost of buying a USB to Thunderbolt adapter that’s sturdier or a drive with a true Thunderbolt cable. As an FYI, these drives were unplugged less than 20 times before they broke and the laptop sits in a consistent docked & stationary position.

> 3 dayNice unit. Plugs into USB 3.0 no problem. I have three.. Works with Linux (Ubuntu) as EXT4. No need for power brick. Honors shutdown (power down) command. Doing that puts device in standby reducing power requirements and runs cooler. Nice white activity led. Not much larger then a USB flash drive.

Greater than one weekHad this item for about 2 weeks. Therefore, I cant comment on reliability and durability. It worked right out of the box and it has very good speed. Those USB flash drives are way too slow; this one is fast. Would be ideal if it was about 20% smaller but its already one of the most compact SSDs on the market. Nice plus that it comes with a USB C adapter. Happy to get rid of my ridiculously slow flash drive. Good price.

> 3 dayVery lightweight, wish it felt sturdier. Slow (expected), but runs pretty cool, backup job took a couple days of continous use and it barely got warm. NTFS, compressed, and Bitlockerd. Satisfied so far. Have use Buffalo products through the years and always found them to be durable and reliable.

> 3 dayIf speed is something that you need I would say its still pretty good but doesnt go the speed advertised. Its slower but it still does the job and is very easy to carry with you on the go. Would still recommend for the price but if speed is what your looking for there are better SSDs but this one is good for the price its at.
