Canon EF-S 55-250mm F4-5.6 is STM

> 3 dayAm living away from home for a time, and my 60D is not with me. However, Ive coupled the 55-250 STM with EOS-M, and this lens simply rocks it. Not only are images steady, well saturated and natural in color, but the lens focuses just as quickly as the EOS-M 18-55mm lens. Thats saying a lot. The EOS-M is a camera that struggles when it comes to autofocus speed, and this lens does better than a couple of other Canon EF-S lenses Ive used on it with an adapter. Its light-weight, well-built for a lens in this class, and it focuses swiftly and accurately at all focal lengths.

> 3 dayI find it so light and easy to use compared to my old 70-210 mm lens on my canon eos 650 SLR that I have also used on my eos rebel SL1. I find it a great companion to go with the 18-55 mm lens that came with my eos rebel SL1.

> 3 dayI got this lens initially for my EOS 2000D (rebel t7) and I have carried it over to my m50 mkii with an adapter. This was my first lens I spent over $100 on and I couldn’t be more pleased. The Autofocus is fast and silent and the image stabilization is a great help when zoomed fully in. The images also look great straight out of camera. The flowers and cherry blossoms are images straight from the native 2000D with no editing. All the other images were edited and taken on the m50 with an adapter. This is a great lens to grow with you If you ever decide to switch over to a mirrorless system as I have seen no reduction in quality. If anything the lens is better thanks to the m50s better AF. This lens is just as functional with an adapter thus I see no reason to get a slightly smaller and lighter native lens just to lose out on 50mm of focal length (as the ef-m is only 55-200mm). For perspective the humming bird image is cropped and was taken from around 6-8 feet away at full zoom. Without that extra 50mm I would have had to crop my image more and lose precious detail. I’ll take the slight increase in weight and size any day for that extra bit of performance.
