Carr & Day & Martin 500ml Belvoir Leather Balsam Intensive Conditioner

My saddles havent had conditioner in over 2 years. With the first coat of this, I could tell an instant difference. After 2 coats, they looked completely back to life again. (They are kept in the AC but were still quite dry.) Yes, there is a perfumey smell that I can see could affect someone but it did not bother me. And, a little goes a long way with the product, so thats always nice. I read reviews and decided to use this and I couldnt be more pleased. I would definitely recommend.

Love this tack conditioner, have used different brands in the past, some very good as well, but CDM is my favorite. Includes sponge, goes on smooth, absorbs well, dont have to condition after every ride. Use on all bridles, saddles, boots, chaps, etc.

Ive been out of the saddle for close to 18 months - a combination of surgeries (shoulder repair, melanoma and heart) but I went back to riding about 4 weeks ago and could not believe how bad I was! No rhythm, no feel for it at all. Then my trainer got in my saddle to show me something and yelped ab out how slick the leather was! She couldnt sit the horse right. Carr & Day & Martin and JPC Equestrian saved the day! I ordered it, treated the saddle and I had a fantastic lesson on Buzz. I had been so focused on just staying in the saddle that I couldnt find any rhythm and wasnt having much fun. This product made my saddle ridable, again. The price is competitive and delivery is to my door. Thank you for taking the worry out of riding.

Very effective on dry leather. Leaves a supple and a little shine effect. Smells good too.

The best

This balm is heaven for my tack and boots. It is absorbed well by the leather making is soft and supple. It also smells quite nice. The only downside is the integrity of the sponge it comes with isnt the best so I end up using my own tack sponges about halfway through the jar because the sponge it comes with starts breaking apart into little pieces. Still a wonderful product that Ill always have on hand!

There are other products out there that do as good a job as leather balsam, typically balsam-based products with a stabilizer such as beeswax to further help with waterproofing... but this product works great for quick wipedowns after cleaning your leather goods when you dont have the time or energy to really get in there and work the product in. A quick scrub and wipe with saddle or glycerin soap, followed by a generous application and wipedown with this product, will keep most leather in great condition. It does contribute to darkening over time, so using this on some lighter colored leathers (that you want to keep that way) is not advisable. I use this for two items I own, an oil-tanned cowhide messenger bag and some soft greasy brown Doc Martens boots that Ive had for over 20 years.

Ive been looking for a good conditioner. When I read the reviews for this product, it convinced me to try it. And Im so glad that I did. My saddle looks great! I highly recommend this product. And it smells great too!

After cleaning my saddle I apply a coating of this and it gets very well absorbed. Keeps leather feeling subtle and looking great. Eastt to apply and does a superior job.
