12-06-2025The monitor is good for gaming. However for desktop use the colors are extremely washed out. If you dont care about that then go for it. I dont like dull colors even for normal use. Not when Ive spent $400+ on a monitor. It has 3 HDR settings, Desktop, Game and HDR400. None of those settings made an ounce of difference. It was my first VA panel so I dont know if all VA panels have this issue or is it more pronounced with this model. I for one will NOT be picking up any VA monitor after this. In game presets the MOBA/RTS preset was the only one that made a slight difference, but only just. Apart from colors, I experienced random flickering even during normal desktop use. Final nail in the coffin was when the screen started to turn off every few seconds when I turned any HDR setting ON. Packed it up and returned it.

> 3 dayIm moving up to this display from a 24 1080P Dell I purchased in 2007 as a secondary display. My current primary is a 4K 60Hz 42 TV. The S3222HG is very nice. The curved screen is more marketing but STILL offers slight enhancement advantage as long as your head is at the focus of the curve. As a secondary display AND my PC on the left side of the 42 and the Dell being on the right side, the 6 foot cord is inadequate. I need at LEAST 10 more. Ill need to get a 10 foot to get the cord off my desk. One other small nitpick is the stand is so-so. My old 24 Dell stand is excellent. It has a more stable footprint and it is able to swivel and raise and lower. The S3222HG stand can not swivel. I plan on 3D printing an adapter piece so I can use the old stand. Otherwise I am happy with the display for the price. Paying the little extra for 165Hz, mostly for infrequent gaming, is a nice enhancement.

> 3 dayI bought this monitor to replace 2 10 year old 21 1080 dpi monitors. I was concerned there wouldnt be enough real estate on the 34 curved monitor. I had nothing to worry about. The images displayed were smaller due to the improved resolution but they were so crisp they were easier to see. I just finished a 10 hour day staring into this monitor and suffered no eyestrain. I didnt have to turn my head as much or as often to see the information, resulting in no neck strain either. I use this monitor for business, not for gaming.

Greater than one weekSo this monitor looks great! It plays games really well and has great color/saturation/brightness/etc. HOWEVER, I have some complaints. I ordered this monitor to replace an older Spectre one that was starting to get lines at the bottom. When I ordered it the first time I plugged it in and it looked great. Played some games and had fun with it. My PC fell asleep while I was afk and when I came back to wake it up, boom, the dreaded lines and a dead pixel popped up. This was the SAME DAY I had just gotten it. So I changed the DP cable to see if it was that and nope, it was in fact the monitor. I ordered a replacement and it arrived the next day. Im currently using this new replacement monitor and when I took it out of the box I had a few more issues. I ordered a new DP cable just in case and swapped it out beforehand. When I loaded up a game it started showing a bit of back flashing so I researched and finally saw it could be the NIVIDIA G-Sync. Turned that off and boom no more back flickering. Also would recommend turning down the sharpness as it can make some text look a bit pixeled. All in all its a great monitor for the price and looks awesome for games. If youre using it for 144hz make sure to have a Display Port cable or it will not get the max framerate. Also if you have some back flickering try turning off your NIVIDIA G-Sync. If youre willing to deal with a bit of issues its worth buying.

> 3 dayVery easy to set up - the hinged thumb screw and snap on base made it a breeze to go from unboxing to gaming. Great design and picture. Thank you Dell for lowering the price on these for holiday season and for delivering them ahead of schedule and just in time to get them under the tree.

> 3 dayMonitor wouldnt turn on at first. After calling customer support I discovered there is an extremely small power button on the bottom right of the monitor. Works as advertised

> 3 dayI almost returned this monitor, as the picture quality was garbage when gaming, with significant blurring and color bleed/smearing with any kind of motion at all. It took me a while to realize that this monitors response time just isnt good and doesnt work well with Freesync. So, I enabled MPRT for the response time, which automatically disabled Freesync (as it should), and all those above problems went away. With my current GPU I get 85-100fps running with the 144Hz refresh rate, and dont experience any screen tearing at all, and with MPRT enabled its a very smooth experience. Id expect with my upgraded GPU (on order) that Ill get near 144fps to match the refresh rate and it will improve all that much more. I dont know if this experience was specific to me and my build, but just sharing my experience for any out there struggling with the advertised quality of this monitor.
