Dell 27 LED Backlit LCD Monitor SE2719H IPS Full HD 1080p, 1920x1080 at 60 Hz HDMI VGA, Black

So this is yet another item I’ve purchased to help me through this pandemic. For several months I’ve been using my work laptop to sit and do telehealth all day. Getting a monitor this size is a game changer, all of a sudden I’m sitting upright and not hunched over a small screen. I’m not squinting trying to read small print on a tiny laptop. A great investment. I’ve always trusted Dell.

I initially purchased one of these monitors when getting set up to work from home. I wanted a solution where I could plug in my laptop via HDMI and still use it as an additional screen, but still big enough to not feel tiny compared to my dual monitor set-up in the office. Honestly, I prefer this set up now, and we have bought more of the monitors for the office to replace the dual screen setup, and are pairing these with laptop stands, so it feels less like a command center and looks sleeker! The screens are good quality, very affordable, and big enough to use in split screen mode.

Great monitor. Replaced my 20” old one. Use to think that was large, but this one is better. Hard to believe I use to have an old console TV that was 27”. Good picture, good refresh rate, great monitor.

Bought to match a previous model used for my home office, does so pretty well. Definitely recommend as a second/third display.

I was pretty excited to have this new monitor replace my old 2nd monitor until I tried to make it work. Set it up, plugged it in. connected the VGA cable to the computer (27 iMac running Windows 10 in Bootcamp): nothing except No signal. Hmm, strange I thought. So, just in case it was a bad VGA cable out of the box, I swapped the one that came with the monitor for one I knew worked with my computer. Sorry Charlie, no luck with that either. Try 3: Lets see what happens with an HDMI to Thunderbolt cable. Forget it, its Chinatown. Try 4: Lets boot into the MacOS side of things (High Sierra) and see what happens there? Maybe its a Win10 quirk. Sucker. Try 5: Lets upgrade to the latest MacOS (Mojave) and see if THAT fixes the problem. Houston we have a problem. Oh, and on top of that the upgrade to Mojave roached the Windows partition so I have that going for me too. In all cases, the desktop doesnt even detect that the monitor is plugged in. While Ive been trying to rebuild my desktop, I plugged it into my Macbook running Win7 and lo and be hold there is light! Indeed, the monitor works fine which means that (a) the cable is functional, (b) the monitor is functional, and (c) theres no real reason for it not to work as an external monitor for my iMac. Gonna give it one more go and then back in the box and back to Amazon it goes.

Terrible design.. screw came loose under screen and fell forward cracking the screen.. poor design

Picture is bright and very viewable. My old monitor was a TV that was the same size, except that the screen was surrounded by a large rim. The screen on this one is larger, even though the unit is the same size.

I got in trouble over this purchase. I bought it, but it didnt have all the connecting wires described in the assembly instructions. It didnt seem to work with my desktop box either, so I called Amazon to ask for guidance. The person I talked to insisted on sending me another monitor. It was missing the same wire and didnt work either. I sent all of it back and wound up buying a more modest monitor locally. It worked fine. Amazon sent me an inquiry about this sorry transaction, and I didnt know what to say. And I still dont know what to say. I didnt even consider Amazon when I needed a second new monitor a few months later. Sorry.

I am using this for my office work. I really liked it. Planning to but one more for my son online classes.
