The only thing keeping me from giving this product a 5.0 is that a heads up that the 4x4 and 4x6 posts arent always an exact size and to be prepared to shave the top 4 of the posts down in order to fit in the brackets if needed. In the end, it turned out amazing!

***UPDATE*** I have changed my review from the 3 stars to 4 stars after receiving the replacement. I was able to get another good one out of the new box and after measuring one of the new ones, it was also smaller than the 3.625 they claim it to be. That being said putting the swing together was super easy and it looks great. I would highly recommend that you have a power drill though to run all of those lag bolts in because there are a lot of them! My DeWalt was nice and warm after putting it all together! We went with a 12 beam on the top and 8 legs but we are thinking of changing the legs over to 10 just to give us more room for the swing arc, assuming we dont get a letter from the HOA...so we might just hold on to the 8 as well! The thing is super sturdy but does need anchored to the ground if you are going to get crazy on it! ------------------------------------------------ I figured I would write this caution and I will for sure update this after I receive the replacement. But as you can see in this photo, the piece is not made correctly and is only 3.25 wide at the bottom and 3.625 at the top which is the measurement that they claim on their website. Since the final cut of a 4x6 is 3.5 x 5.5 if it was made correctly it would slide right on. And the second piece in this kit did just that....it slid right on without any issues at all. I have seen a lot of people saying they needed to soap up the board or push it on with a hammer, etc but being 1/4 under size is obviously a problem with the manufacturing of this piece. Amazon of course is making it right and sending me another one out and I sure hope at least one of the pieces is the correct size because we have some kids that were excited to have a swing set up and now they are learning some patience!

I bought this kit because I was looking for something sturdy that would allow me to use my own swings. This kit was cheap and well built. I used 4x6x120 for the top beam and 4x4x96 for the legs. Make sure you buy the wood the company suggest, being treated wood with true dimensions of 3.5x3.5 for the legs and 3.5x5.5 for the beam. If you buy the wood meant for this, it will fit perfectly. You should not have to modify your lumber. Use a 3/16 pilot drill for the lag bolts. The lag bolts are 5/16 with a 1/2 hex head. I suggest using power tools to make this easy, but a basic ratchet will work as well. I did this alone, but it would be easier to move once built with at least 2 people.

I keep going back and forth on whether or not to give this bracket set another star or not. In the end it does its job & does it well. I feel that the company could offer more instruction on how to use these though & tips and pointers on what to use that are more clear and so customers dont have to dig for them. I spent a lot of time just trying to find out what size drill bit to use to pre-drill the holes for these brackets before lag bolting them in. I also had a hard time finding the specific wood, and swing brackets that are best for these. I still dont know how many pounds these legs support, or how much weight I can disperse without these solid steel brackets breaking. Maybe I am insane, and shouldnt worry about that since they seem sturdy - but I am a parent and worry about my childrens safety! It would have been nice if the set included some instructions, although nothing came in the box other than exactly what you see in the display photo. I guess, what I am getting at is the brackets are great, sturdy, a bit pricey, but do what they are intended to do. To get to this point however, is not an easy task! There are reviews on here that say people did this all by themselves, which I did, and it is possible; HOWEVER, I totally could have greatly injured myself at least 2 times and slightly injured myself a few others while putting this swing set together. You need a 4x6x10 or greater top beam, and 4x4x8 or greater legs - a full assembled #2 treated wood set of this size weighs 200lbs! When each leg is extremely heavy, you get to a point where you have to slide in from another side, and you cant rely on the bracket to simply hold the wood before you screw it in. You need help with this part, or like I said, you risk an injury or two. Finally, when you need to setup the swing set (this is where one major injury almost happened), you need help with this or you will strain / sprain / hurt your back or neck. I would update my review if the company offered the following suggestions in their videos & included some instructions with their sets: 1. Inform customers you cant just simply slide the brackets together and screw them in, and ta-da its magically upright and ready to go. 2. Have step by step (simple) instructions how to actually put together a swing set included in the videos and a simple paper copy in the box. 3. Show when you will need a helper, and suggest this - or you may be ending up getting in trouble with someone getting injured! 4. Have a detailed list of what you need (drill, drill bit size, impact driver or socket, size of socket / impact bit, sizes of wood and how many, additional support sides recommended, additional brackets and accessories *this could make you some money too*, any additional bolts/screws needed, etc.) 5. A detailed way to setup your swing set when it is laying down on the ground (how to get it up). This would be a 5 star product, if it had the 5 star setup for the product. Use the help of a friend, get the correct pieces you need, and use an impact drill to get the bolts in & you will have a much more enjoyable time than I did. It came out wonderful however!

I have assembled two of these swing sets now one at our home 12ft wide with 3 swings and one at my 87 year old grandmothers house 16ft wide with middle support bracket, a bench swing for her and 2 kids swings. First I will address some complaints in other reviews about brackets being too small for a 4x6 PT beam. Yes the beam fits tight and that is how it should be. Due to the process, and its all in the name pressure treated, they force chemicals into the wood with pressure to preserve it. Youll notice over time even on your deck the deck boards you fit together snug will shrink as they dry out and leave you ⅛-³/¹⁶ gaps if you buy your lumber the same day and expect to slap it together its gunna fight you. That said there are a few tricks you can try. Light coat of vegetable oil or as long as the wood is fairly dry try cornstarch. Then use a wooden block and a sturdy hammer. Best case would be buy the lumber and give it a couple weeks in a sunny spot. You want a snug fit it will be sturdier and movement will affect the hardware and brackets much less over time. Otherwise drill pilot holes for the lags. Build it on a set of saw horses and it will be far easier to tip it up once you are done. Buy sturdy swing hangers or have some made at a local metal shop. No need to cut legs to the angle of the ground they will sink into the grass somewhat and give a sturdy footprint. Also due to covid supply issues you may want to source the lumber prior to ordering the brackets. When it came time to built my grandmas swing set treated lumber was all but impossible to come by. Had to drive 50 miles to find 4x4x8 for legs.

So after reading through all of the reviews and comparing this to other similar products I found this one to be the best. Now as a woman was it easy.. not really but easier than expected. I used 4x6x12 for beam and 4x4x8 for legs. I purchased the lag screws for the belt swing anchors. Other than that.. this was a good experience for me and the children. I did have to tap the wood a little. The wood to me was just heavy and please have some help. Lifting this was incredibly difficult and Requires some strong folks. All of the lad screws and washers came in box. Being a little hefty hefty (LOL) I decided to see if it would handle my weight AND IT DOES! With this pandemic going on I really needed this. If you are unsure of buying the pricey 3500$ gym sets just get this, the children just want to swing. O yeah if you use the 8ft legs get extra chain bc I had to hop up on the swing. The wood fit in my traverse to. Now it took me 2 half days to put it together because I used hand tools. Dont be like me get a drill that is Fully charged. Overall I would buy this again and will be adding a rock wall soon!

This worked perfectly. Was confusing on what length 4x4 I needed but I just stuck with an 8’ and it was just right.

Opted for 10 ft 4x4s which gave me around 9 ft of clearance to remove my truck shell. Needed a way to remove my top. Straps for now. Will be using rope pulleys to then lower and store out of the way. Large swing on order for dual purpose use. Thinking about building another for the smaller kiddos.

For what a metal swingset cost you can use these brackets and treated lumber and get 30 years for the same cost. This kit requires no cutting if you use the recommended lengths. you basically need a hammer a decent rachet and a 1/2 socket . 1 hour of time. 4x6 are not easily easy to come by I used two 2x6x10s for my top beam I glued the boards and sandwiched them. Its so heavy I cant see flipping it but concrete the legs inbthe ground would be wise
