09-06-2025These are not compostable -and not truly biodegradable. They “break down” into tiny pieces of plastic that end up in the food chain. There is no research on how they affect the human body, but you likely have millions of pieces in your body. Truly compostable bags are made from plants and break down into carbon and water. These use a technology now banned in Europe to the harm it does the the environment. Please do not use these and choose a PLA or cornstarch based bag. One star due to greenwashing and misleading marketing.

Greater than one weekThese are actually oxo-biodegradable, not true biodegradable (check ASTM classification). This means they break up into little pieces of plastic, shown to be worse for the environment. Companies are required by law to specify this. Dont fall for false advertising. Astm D6400 is the best rating for true compostability where it breaks down into CO2 and H2O
