I ordered a 2-pack and it took awhile to get them. That was no fault of Amazon, they were in high demand and were back ordered. I eagerly awaited for them to arrive because they are the first Smart home devices that I know of that support the new connection protocol called Matter. For those that aren’t familiar these plugs work on thread, not WiFi. Thread and matter are far superior to WiFi and going forward that is all I will buy. It is faster than WiFi, each powered device functions as a “router” for other thread devices, and I could go on. Also these eve outlets are great because they have a built in power meter which is handy so you can keep track of energy consumption on whatever is plugged into it. Aside from being the most expensive smart plugs I’ve seen there is nothing not to like. However, I have to express my initial disappointment. When I finally got the 2-pack the very first one out of the box was completely dead. It wouldn’t power on or do anything. The 2nd one worked fine. I called Amazon’s tech support and was floored to hear that I had to wait 48 hours after I received them before I could initiate a return. What? That made no sense to me, but I let it go initially. Then I thought I would email Eve directly to see if maybe there was some way of resetting it or something. They were, to put it as nicely as I can, less than helpful. At first they seemingly didn’t read my long, well thought out email and only said that they had no control over Amazon’s return policy. I didn’t think they did, and that’s not why I contacted them in the first place. I contacted them to express my disappointment that the most expensive smart outlet I had ever bought was DOA upon receipt. I emailed back and re-expressed my concern and I was astounded at their reply. They essentially said in so many words, “ stuff happens” it’s not a perfect world. Not, “oh my gosh, I’m so sorry to hear about this, please let us know if Amazon doesn’t satisfy you”. If I treated my customers that way I wouldn’t have a job long. In Amazon’s defense I called back the next day and this time I got someone who was clearly in the USA and not a foreign call center. The woman that helped me was phenomenal and she took care of it in an expedient manner. She completely made me change my mind about the service after the sale aspect of this transaction. I have since received the replacements and both worked perfectly right out of the box. They definitely have some nice features and are certainly the most feature rich plugs I have. I will say that the Wemo brand Homekit thread plug is less expensive and works just as well, although it doesn’t have a power meter. All things considered I give the plugs 5/5 stars, the Eve app is great as well. I was very disappointed in Eve’s technical support and still am, and initially my experience with Amazon tech support was disappointing as well, although the 2nd person I dealt with more than redeemed it for me. She was phenomenal. All in all, they’re relatively expensive, but they are definitely nice. If you’re wanting a very similar plug for significantly less money (although with fewer bells and whistles) I would check out the Thread enabled Homekit Wemo smart plug.

Incorporates thread and you could download free firmware update to incorporate matter. I was interested in only thread and the price was cheaper than buying the newer version which has matter already updated. Save yourself some cash and get this model and update firmware. Response times seems quicker than outlets i have which do not have thread. Replaced W..o V2.0 recently hacked outlets which the company would not update. Go EVE.

These plugs function very well, but emit a high pitched noise that has kept me from being able to use them in any spot in my house that I might spend more than a few seconds at a time. I think I can make use of the 2 I bought but I definitely won’t be buying more.

Unfortunately this version requires an upgrade to Matter, which can ONLY be performed with a Mac thread border router, and not a non-Mac one. So dont buy this thinking youll just upgrade to use with non-Mac devices, because you cant. I checked with Eve support, this is working as they designed it to do. I hope this will change

    Greater than one week

Love the Eve Energy plugs look, but they are slow to respond Everytime I switch them on & off. Would be great to see Eve fix the latency issues.

The only reason I bought this smart plug is because it has amperage reading. The reading is embedded in their app & not easy to find, but it is there. It would be even better if this plug can use that reading to switch off the plug so that it can be used as overload protection.

Sadly they lost connection to HomeKit and their own Eve App. Fay better experience with Aqara.

Decided to go with these to replace my Wemo smart plugs that I had for a while. The Wemo were ok when they worked, but eventually they would stop working and you had to unplug them and plug them in again to get them to work again. These are a bit smaller in size than my Wemo plugs and they are much more stable. I haven’t had any problems with them failing to work. The main reason I went Eve is that they have better privacy policy and plus they have the ability to calculate how much electricity is being used on the outlet. That is one of the main reason why I went with Eve. Another reason is that they support the new standard Matter. That way they are more future proof. One thing I wish it had was the ability to automatically turn off after a certain period of time after being turned on. That is what my older Wemo plugs had. That is a nice feature so you can have it turn off after 1 hour of being turned on. That way if someone forgets to turn off a lamp, it will automatically shut off after 1 hour or whatever time you set it for. Another thing that would be nice if they added support for Amazon Alexa. Maybe when Matter support gets flushed out more you might be able to use it with Amazon Alexa also. Another nice feature is that you can control the LED light when it’s turned on. You can have the light on when it’s turn on or you can disable it so it will not stay lit up when it’s on. This is nice if you have in your bedroom and you don’t want a bright LED on at night. I also noticed that even though it says you need to have a Home Hub like a newer Apple TV or Apple HomePod mini, I was still able to access those switch while away from my home. I was able to turn on my lights with my old original AppleTV 4K when away from my home and it worked fine. Overall a nice reliable smart plug that works with HomeKit.

Control your lights and appliances with a simple tap or by asking Siri. Or effortlessly set up schedules that put your appliances on autopilot, turning your floor lamps, dehumidifier and many other devices on and off independently of your iPhone or internet connection. With HomePod, HomePod mini, or Apple TV as your home hub, you can also access your accessories on the go, control them automatically based on whether somebody is leaving or arriving home, and add automations that work with other HomeKit-enabled accessories. Eve Energy lets you keep watch the energy your accessories are consuming and shows you how much they’re going to cost based on your entered electricity rate. Eve Energy supports Bluetooth and Thread, and joins your Thread network automatically. As a router node, Eve Energy relays other Thread accessories’ data packages and enhances the stability and reach of your smart home. Equipped with Apple HomeKit technology and UL certification, Eve Energy offers outstanding ease of use and advanced security. Eve Energy is quick & easy to set up, and you don’t need a bridge. And the best thing about all Eve accessories is how they protect your privacy: Eve does not harvest your personal data and there is no Eve cloud, so your data won’t get exposed. Local intelligence means all the processing is done locally and Eve accessories communicate directly with your iPhone, iPad, or home hub without any cloud dependency or bridge.
