> 3 dayPerfect carpenter tape measure. Use it in the shop daily.

> 3 dayIm becoming a FastCap fan-boy. Their markings are easy to read and accurate, and the mechanism seems reliable. The differences are subtle to the casual observer, but if you use one a lot then those little differences really add up. I can hardly stand to look at a yellow-blade tape measure anymore...

> 3 dayI really like this tape measure. One area where it really shines for me is allowing a quick check for the distance between the front and back of my table saw blade and the fence. Will also be buying the lay flat one as well.

> 3 dayThe locking door on the bottom serves no purpose, it will bit keep the tape extended when sitting on a flat surface. Disappointed.

> 3 dayWould like to return this but already threw away the packaging and aint worth the trip to the UPS store. Guess Ill give it to the kids to play with, since it seems built like a toy. The main reason I got it was because it was *supposed* to hold itself open/in place when set down on a piece of work. Say it aint so, Joe. It also feels very cheaply made compared to my Milwaukee, Stanley, and DeWalt tape measures. I would not recommend anyone buy this. In hand, feels like the free cheapo tape measures the furniture & appliance stores give away. But there is no way in heck Im going to trust the accuracy of this thing on anything in my shop, much less to see whether an appliance is going to fit through an opening.

Greater than one weekNO MORE MISTAKES. Have you ever read a tape upside down and wrote 5/8 instead of 3/8? Cant do that with this tape. Im not quite ecstatic about the markings; stud locations are very well marked at 16 intervals, however FOOT markings are small and not well differentiated from the other markings.

> 3 dayWhere has this tool been all my life! Amazing how the big name players, top brands names, cant even come up with an easy design to read the fraction of inches.

> 3 dayThe belt clip broke after first day of mild use.

> 3 dayPurchased this after seeing the many recommendations by other woodworkers. It is indeed the fullest-featured, easiest to use tape measure Ive every had. It feels very good in hand thanks to the soft cladding. It has the easiest lock Ive used. The sharpener is a gimmick but when you need it you dont have to go looking. FastCap has several other models with differences for particular needs, but this is the most generally useful.
