FastenMaster FMHLGM412-50 HeadLOK Heavy-Duty Flathead Fastener, 4-1/2 Inches, 50-Count

I first used these a couple of years ago when I made a raised light fixture box in our kitchen. I was honestly stunned by the holding power hey have. The oversized head is great, no need for a washer. I still drill pilot holes because I feel it is better for the wood to reduce splitting. I have just started building folding workbenches for my garage using these to mount the brackets to the wall studs. Again drilling pilot holes these screws dig in and pull in hard. I have to be careful not to let them bend the bracket as they go in with such force.

They are the best I have ever used. I used them on a deck they also look great.

Weve used a lot of different fasteners to hold deck framing together, and these are hands down the best so far. We drill a pilot slightly smaller and the same depth as the the smooth shank, then drive them with a cordless impact gun until they are flush. They are great a pulling and holding slightly warped framing lumber into line.

Screwing up through the top plates is much faster than those damn hurricane clips; plus it puts the uplift force closer to the plywood face where it belongs. Brilliant yet simple innovation here.

I never paid any attention to this product in the past. My son pointed out and I took a chance when I was making some major repairs to my house. I found this product and several variations from Fastenmaster that proved to be great fastening solutions.

Works greats in softwood not so well on hardwood.

Was a good option for areas on deck that needed structural support.

Screw is fine, but you need to pre-drill hole. Also, the head is Not a Torx head. Just what i needed, another screw bit head to carry around. Dumb.
