Flukers Large Critter Cavern Reptile/Small Animal Hide

It’s big and bulky, BUT it literally is so thick that is leaves NO room for an animal to really comfortably hide within and under the log, what was the point in me ordering an XL for my snake? He’s a dwarf boa and he literally can only fit his head under here. You’ve got to be kidding. This is an XL and they send you and extremely thick piece.

If youre getting this hide for anything other than a couple of beetles, then the size might be a hard sell. That said, I DID get it for a couple of beetles, and it works great! They can hide under it or climb on top of it if they want to, and usually at least one of them is chilling in the shade underneath. Looks great for a good price :-)

I hate this thing. I bought it for one of my bearded dragons. Its sturdy and it is large so thats great BUT... My issue is the mess this one makes. It constantly sheds wood so to speak..makes a mess in the tank because the wood flakes off..super annoying to me. I use ceramic tiles in my tanks so if you use it for a tank that has crushed walnut or that kind it may work...I have a smaller one for a ghecko I have and carpet and its fine..maybe I just got a bad one..

Good, sturdy, and reliable hide. However when mine came in and I removed the label, one of the staples was sticking out and I attempted to remove it and instead it snapped in half and now there are two sharp metal pieces sticking out :(

Though hes a big boy, my dragon loves the extra large almost as much as his bath. Only downfall is that the wood shavings/chips get everywhere and sometimes stick near his eyes when he sleeps on it.

no complaints. bigger than i expected, i can even shave the insides if i want it bigger.

My lizard loves this hide! I think the texture feels good to her, especially when shedding. It’s way bigger than I thought, but I’m completely okay with that! Only dislike is that it flakes a little at first. I had to pick off some of the pieces so it would stop getting the tank all messy. But other than that its great!

When buying this product I was thinking large would accomidate a small ball python, but it barely would have enough space for a small lizard, id buy the extra large one since for some reason is labeled as cheaper but it would most likely still be too small...hope this helps!

First time I ordered this the package got lost and never made it to me. When I ordered it again, it came two days late. Its bigger than I expected and the wood is not necessarily sealed or finished which I just assumed it would be given it would go in tanks with water. I dont think anything in the description says that its finished so that was entirely my own expectations. That having been said, it was really inexpensive and very sturdy so those were pluses. I think it will be well worth less than $3 even if it wont be in my tank forever.
