ive had my giinii for 3 weeks and scanned 1600 photos and docs. good product.a bit fragile tho. on off switch doesnt work well.

If you are looking for a scanner primarily to preserve photographs, get this, sit and watch t.v., and just scan those pics! Only seconds to scan and much quicker than standing at my all-in-one printer/copier/scanner unit, lifting the lid, placing the photo, lowering the lid, scan photo, wait, wait, oh, and wait... This will scan documents, too, no problem. But my purpose was scanning and having the ability to save pre-digital era photographs, and this compact scanner is perfect for that task and very convenient to do while sitting - anywhere with electrical outlet!

I enjoy this scanner very much. Its very lightweight and easy to use, and I like the preview screen so I can do it over if necessary.

Great Product! I have used this scanner a lot now and never have had any issues with the scanning. I recommend this product.

This works not only for photographs but old news paper articles as well. The only draw back is you have to keep an eye on the photos shown on the display for signs of cleaning needed which isnt that big of a deal.

I have purchased several picture scanners and this one is my favorite. It is so handy because of the viewer!

I have worked with scanners for 15 years and thought this would be a quick fix for time saving. I was wrong. This item doesnt preform very well. The page feeds crooked while in the scanning process. By this I mean, the feed is straight to start with then begins pulling the photo faster on one side than the other. The final output has dark banding running through the image. I preformed all the cleaning that was suggested in the instructions but it did not work. The scanner is junk as far as I am concerned.

This thing was totally non functional. We sent it back.

I bought the GiiNii NuLife Full Size Photo Scanner in 2012 and scanned only about 100 photos right around that time and the scans were fine. I recently pulled the scanner off the shelf to do some more photo archiving but immediately noticed a problem with the scans. After scanning several photos and getting the same type of results, severe banding/striping, I looked in the front feed slot and saw that top of the inside looked like there were some bubbly protrusions hanging down; see the blue circled area with the two most noticeable bumps (most of that top feed area has some wavy bumps). I know this scanner is outside of the warranty period but I thought folks should know how little use its had and how poorly its performing now. Based on the customer service response from GiiNii support they claim that the problem is due to how the scanner was stored... without knowing how it was stored. It was stored properly on a shelf in a closed container, not too: hot, cold, wet or dry. Based on the poor quality and limited lifespan of the product (seriously, if you buy it, be sure to finish all the scanning you ever need to do right away), I would discourage anyone from buying this.

Worked well for about 50 photos after which it stopped feeding properly. Tried to calibrate, clean and re-set factory defaults. All attempts to correct the feed problem were unsuccessful. Disappointed in this scanner.
