Harris Solder Kit SB861 & SCPF4 - Stay-Brite #8 Silver Bearing Solder with Flux

> 24 hourI was skeptical that a solder could be strong enough to hold up to 300+psi of r410a, but heard good things so I gave it a try. Ive used it on several residential AC installs and it has been flawless, less leaks than brazing and wayyyy faster than brazing. You have to use Emory cloth and/or wire brush to clean the fitting very well and use less flux than you normally would with plumbing solder, just make sure to use flux on the male fitting at least. It has been a complete game changer. Instead of hauling around a heavy ass welding rig, I can just carry a 5 pound map gas torch and get it all done fast! I will be sticking with this if all proves leak free in the long term.

> 24 hourconfirm here that this product is better than brazing! Holding pressure on copper fittings with 700PSig easily. No leaks no issues. Brazing weakens copper, staybrite wont.

> 24 hourHaving never done hvac line sets before I thought I’d give it a go… this was so easy and saved me so much money compared to having a hvac tech come braze lines… it’s been 5 months since I used the silver soldier on my line sets and it’s holding strong.

> 24 hourEz to use, hard to find videos on This but they are outhere. Take a couple of practice pipes before you do the job, the most common mistake is overheating. Soldered all my repair on the ac no leaks, vacuumed the system and hold without loss for one hr. I love it, will buy again when I need it.
