I mainly got this to deal with some old pet stains from my pup who as she turned senior had little accidents here and there - sometimes in places I didn’t notice at first because I have anosmia and couldn’t smell my way to the spot. I was dubious that an inexpensive carpet cleaner would work but thought I’d give it a try. Well let me tell you, this thing is a little miracle worker. A few runs over the area dispensing the cleaner that comes with it (specifically for pet stains), then a few runs over to dry it - and I could not believe how good it looked. Now I want to do the whole carpet with it (granted that will be a job because the water dispenser is not that big - so a lot of refilling with warm water and cleaning stuff). I’ve had carpet cleaning machines before, and this one beats them all. It’s pretty light so not hard to carry up and down the stairs. Cleaning it seemed very straightforward and they include a little tool to help clean the brush area. I recommend cleaning the machine well after a task - I think it would get gunked up otherwise. Also - I did notice some small tufts of carpet come up. It didn’t change the look of the rug, but I would take note of it depending on the quality of the carpeting - over time it might cause issues. I will report back if that is the case.

I bought this carpet cleaner because I was looking for something that was easier to maneuver than my full-sized carpet shampooer. I love how lightweight it is. The water reservoirs are smaller, so you need to fill/dump more often, but I expected this as a trade off. The PowerDash cleaned very effectively. Im very happy with the results. I have to go over the area cleaned 3 times to extract all the water, but I have to do the same thing with my big shampooer. I read some complaints about this in reviews, but I really dont see how an carpet cleaner would extract the shampoo an more effectively without damaging the carpet. This is a compact carpet cleaner and it doesnt clean as wide a path as a full-size machine. But, if you prioritize having a lightweight solution over getting the job done faster, the Hoover PowerDash Pet Advanced Compact Carpet Cleaner will probably work well for you.

My carpet was heavily soiled from years of only getting a a good cleaning when I had time and money to rent one. I did the best I could with vacuuming and spot treating and hand scrubbing between rentals, but with 2 small children a dog and a husband tracking in and out of the house all the time once a year deep cleaning was not enough. So I purchased this little Hoover, partially because it was small and I dont have a ton of storage space. I dont mind the small water tanks as I have to pause frequently to care for my little ones, and the small tanks make it lighter and easier to maneuver. Speaking of maneuvering, this little beast handles just like a vacuum cleaner, I wasnt expecting that but am very pleased that it handles so well. It does leave little balls of pet hair when it builds up in the brush, but I just pick those up with a paper towel and toss them out, so not a huge problem for me. As its been a while since the last cleaning, I went over the area that I decided to start with 3 times, and the suction is great, I had to go over the heavier soiled areas more, but I expected that. The picture I submitted shows how soiled the pathway was and how clean this little machine got it! I am very pleased with it.

I used the Hoover PowerDash on multiple light-colored 8X10 area rugs around my home and was really impressed with how much deep-set dirt & soil this compact cleaner pulled up. We have cats, and we also have the area rugs in high foot traffic areas of our home. After about 2 1/2 years of just using a regular vacuum on our rugs, I noticed the gray & cream colors were looking dingy. There were also a few faint stains on our family room rug from normal living wear & tear. I ordered this PowerDash based on positive reviews, and I am really glad I did. For the liquid formula I poured into the cleaner, I used the Bissel Pro Max Clean & Protect liquid formula for Upright Carpet Cleaners, and poured it in this Hoover Power Dash Upright Pet Carpet Cleaner with warm water, following the instructions that come with the Hoover Power Dash Cleaner. After one cleaning, my rugs look completely revived. My husband and I were shocked at how much dirt was in the rugs that we did not even realize. The Cleaner also lifted the faded stains, some that had been set for a good 2 years. I forgot how bright my rugs originally were! The PowerDash cleaner is lightweight and easy to assemble & to use. I also found it relatively easy to clean out the dirty water container. It just requires you to dump the dirty water and then you may have to pull out a few clumps of carpet fiber that the cleaner lifts because of the strong suction. A few tips: definitely use warm water, and go slowly when pushing & pulling the Cleaner during use. The clean water/formula tank is small, so I had to fill it twice to clean the full surface of one 8X10 area rug. The process of filling the water/formula tank is really easy so it is not a big deal, but I would recommend buying an extra bottle of the liquid cleaner to have on hand for cleaning if you plan to clean larger surface areas. All but one of our rugs were brand new 2 1/2 years ago when we moved into our home. The new thicker rugs all washed up really well and felt soft & fresh after the cleaning. The only advice I would give is to be careful with older or more delicate rugs. The suction of the carpet cleaner is strong, so it does suck up carpet fibers. We have one hall rug that is a little older/thinner, and the carpet fibers on that rug were a little delicate/brittle for the suction of the PowerDash. The rug is clean after use, but you can almost see where some of the fibers on this older rug were thinned out from the cleaning. But on all of our newer, thicker rugs, the cleaner sucked up the dirt & soil beautifully and left the rugs feeling really soft and clean. Overall, super pleased with this purchase. I am impressed with how powerful this cleaner is for something so lightweight and relatively inexpensive compared with other cleaners.

The only thing I’m not happy with this item is the cord is too short. I have to keep unplugging to another outlet to reach the other end of my bedroom and I don’t have a large bedroom. Longer cord would have being better.

Light weight and cleaned both a thick carpet and a thin one. The carpet dried in the same amount of time as a over $300.00 model.

We have 23 year-old carpet. Planning to replace with hard flooring, but we have a 3 month old puppy, so...waiting until hes potty trained. Anyway, I vacuum once a week (more if necessary) with a Dyson vacuum. I steam clean the carpet at least once a year (just me, the hubby and 2 dogs, so not tons of foot traffic). We always remove our shoes in our mudroom, and dogs enter/exit through there too. When I went to clean my carpet this weekend, my old heavy Hoover died half-way through my living room. I hopped online, frustrated I couldnt get my weekend project done, and not looking forward to spending a fortune on a new unit. I found this on Amazon and couldnt believe an inexpensive cleaner would do a good job, but the reviews were good AND I could get it overnight! I could still get the project done over the weekend! As promised, the machine was delivered right away in the morning. Assembly was a breeze (handle, post, water reservoir and dirty water reservoir). I LOVE that the on/off power is a foot pedal! Genius! I love the lightweight design, too. Pushing/pulling this Hoover around my living room was SO much easier on my back and knees than my last dinosaur! 3 downsides: This unit isnt as wide, so it takes more passes to clean each room. The water reservoirs are also smaller, so more trips to add water and dump dirty water. Cleaning this machine after use and before storing it is a bit involved. To remove the brush roller to clean, 6 screws need to be removed to take it out. BUT...those 3 minor downsides are MORE than made up for by how FLOORED I was (see what I did there?) at how great this unit performed! My carpet is dark beige, and I thought it wasnt dirty. My old unit died half-way through my living room, so I went back over that already-cleaned part first to get used to the new machine. OMG, the dirt, hair, fuzz and sand (where the heck???) that came out of the cleaned area!! I cleaned 4 foot square sections at a time (shampoo solution first, then back over with only water, then back over a 3rd time to remove as much moisture as possible). Ew, the stuff I got out was incredible. The powerful suction of this little Hoover did a great job of removing water, but also raising the nap of the carpet! My carpet doesnt look new, but it looks SO much better, feels clean and soft. For the price, you cant go wrong with this little powerhouse! So glad I took a chance and bought it!

I dont have a long history with wet vacs for comparison. And I had hoped to find a handheld cat barf cleaner, which is a common occurrence around my house of three cats, 2 are seniors. Plus I have a toddler, need I say more? But after reading many reviews, I opted for this unit instead of a handheld. I put off putting it together for a week thinking it would be a pain in the butt to assemble, despite reviews saying that it was easy. That was a mistake in and of itself, as it is *extraordinarily* easy to put together and can be done and ready to use in 5 minutes or less. No tools required, no points of frustration. Because I put off putting it together, I had a couple of spots of cat barf sitting on my brand new carpet. I had spot treated them, but now the carpet was crispy where I had cleaned them manually. My eldest cat threw up again and I thought enough is enough, I need to put this thing together. I retreated the old spots and got them wet again with some vinegar and water. I cleaned up the old and new spots and confirmed with a black light flashlight that they were 100% clean. Let me repeat that, 100% clean! And the old spots were soft again once the carpet dried. This thing is saving my new carpet. Im about to sell my house so its critical that I have perfect carpet, as I spent good money to get good thick carpet and padding (before I knew I was selling). Could you clean your whole room? Oh yeah, definitely. You might have to refill the tank, but they built it in such a way its so easy to refill, AND8 clean, It would be no trouble at all to clean an entire room. It has separate clean and dirty water tanks. And you need very little concentrated cleaning fluid for the soap to water ratio. So even the sample that comes with it is enough to last a while, even though I went ahead and purchased a large container from the get-go. It will probably last me a lifetime. I almost wish my cats would pee on the carpet so I can test that, but lets not get crazy here. I do believe that this unit would clean up cat urine completely though. Its so thorough! You cant get your carpet clean without good suction, and this sucker has GREAT suction. The carpet is almost dry when the job is complete. And the carpet is completely dry within an hour, leaving it soft and like new again. I cant speak to it cleaning stairs, as I dont have any stairs in my home. I can imagine it might be a bit of a pain. But I think that stairs are going to be a pain no matter what unit you use. Theres no handheld attached, If thats something youre looking for. But it was excellent at cleaning right against the wall too. I was thinking about paying the super big bucks to get wood floors throughout my new home thats being built, for the sole reason that my senior cats throw up. Having this unit buys me peace of mind that I can get carpet in my bedrooms, which I prefer. This little lightweight unit will save me at least $10k, by opting for carpet in my bedrooms instead of wood, and having the peace of mind that I can clean any mess. Can you tell I love this unit yet? You will too. I havent had it long enough to speak to longevity. But it seems like a solid unit. I personally think the price point is appropriate too.
