> 3 dayI added this to an old Ford Explorer that only had a factory flat-4 trailer wiring harness. Now I have the option of towing a trailer with the RV style 7-pin or an old school flat-4 plug in it. The flat-4 portion plugs directly into the existing flat-4 wiring on the vehicle so you dont have to cut anything off of the vehicle. The only thing you have to wire in is 12V auxiliary power and back-up lights, but only if you need them. Since my trailer does not use either of those options I just taped those wires up and left them there in case I want to wire them in later. It also comes with a mounting bracket and screws so mounting it is a piece of cake. I only had to drill two holes to mount the bracket. I would definitely buy again.

> 3 dayThis connector is the right one if you all ready have a trailer light connection. You only need to plug in your lights and run your wires for your brakes and 12v for camper . It has the optional wire for backup lights as well .It comes with a good bumper bracket and the necessary bolts , nuts and washers to get the job done . Once installed you have a connector for your boat or utility trailer or a plug for your camper or heavy pull trailer built into the same connection .

Greater than one weekSimple and easy way to make up for Fords Super failure in their 1999 Super Duty truck. Dont get me wrong - I LOVE my truck but what was Ford thinking producing a truck of this caliber with no RV7 trailer plug. Sure in 2001 they fixed the problem but I dont HAVE a 2001 truck. This was an excellent way to get on the road immediately to bring our new (to us - 1995 28 trailer) camper home from the seller. Some extra wire hookups and a brake controller and now my truck is a TRUCK again.

> 3 dayThe item did not work. I replaced my old one with this new one to get the built in 4 plug connector. Pulled the boat to the water and none of the lights were working. Plugged in the old one and everything works. Something wrong with the internal wiring of the item.

Greater than one weekUsed it to add a 7 pin connection to 2008 Ford Expedition that came w/ the 4 pin connection. Mine had electric brake pre-wired, but no power line (black). I was able to make holes on the 4 pin connector holder and attach this adapter using nut/bolt. The wires behind the 7 pin connection touch the spare tire a bit, but I was able to install everything w/o much trouble. Looks professional, and so far no issues connecting/hauling a travel trailer.

Greater than one weekEasy install and a quality product. The Dual connection option is a useful addition to my trailer towing ability. No need to have adapters floating around to lose or search for when a flat 4 wire plug is required. The plug was easy to install with the purchase of a wiring adapter needed for your particular vehicle. You MUST make a separate ground connection for this plug to work it does not piggyback the ground from the flat plug ground. Other than the additional ground the connection is easy and straight forward. Did not use the mounting bracket it was kind of light in strength I drilled a mounting hole in my bumper near the License plate to mount the plug. Better placement and protected from road hazards in this location. It is also illuminated at night by the License Plate Lights which makes for easier vision in the dark. ******************************************************************************************************* Used it to tow my boat and trailer (5000 lbs.)with disc surge brakes and reverse lock out relay from Cape Cod MA to SW Florida (1700 miles) and did not have a single problem it worked flawlessly.

> 3 dayWent to Alabama this weekend to pick up a trailer. Found out the trailer was a 7 blade plug. I only had 4 flat wiring. It plugged directly into my current wiring and then I just grounded it. Worked like a charm. 10 min install. Definitely recommend!

> 3 dayExactly what I was looking for. I can plug in either type pigtail with no adapters required. I replaced my old 7 pin with this dual unit. You need to understand how your vehicle is wired if you have a brake power module. Make sure you unhook the battery during work and map out your wiring before you start. It makes it easier. The instructions provide color codes which are probably 90% correct based on most vehicles, but do not assume so. Get a tester and map the wiring before you start..
