> 3 dayI have these on several vehicles- great quality. ALWAYS use the combination adapters like this so if you need to tow a trailer with either connector, you can. I learned that the hard way when I had an axle failure on my car trailer away from home- I had to get a rental trailer to get my race car home while I left the other trailer at a friends house while I had to order a new axle for it. Being able to slap a rental trailer on without buying an adapter is awesome. You never know when you may want to tow something for a friend or whatever. Its also no more wiring involved to have this combo unit.

> 3 dayI have an older Ford F-150 with the 4-pin style tow connector. I was renting an RV for our family vacation that had a 7-pin cable, so in a way, this adapter helped make our vacation possible. I drilled two holes in the bumper and screwed this adapter into them (along with the ground wire), and then had to shave off some of the plastic on the 4-pin cable to get it to mate with the existing connector on the truck. The instructions were just OK. All in all, installing this took about an hour. It seems to work well, so I recommend this product for those with older trucks and newer trailers.

> 3 dayI have purchased several of these little guys for the purpose of installing them on all of my tow-capable vehicles. They work great, and do include all of the necessary hardware and bracketry to mount onto a vehicle. I wish they came with heat shrink butt connectors, but my guess is that request would drive the price up. All of the contact surfaces were clean and corrosion free. The rear of the round connector appears to be water tight and durable. The copper wiring meets all of the AWG specs for the application it is designed for. I did use this in conjunction with a

> 3 dayWhat arrived was exactly what I ordered. There is quite a price range on similar product and I went to the center as this is for my 1999 Dodge Durango that I use only to launch my boat. What I got was impressive for the price. Everything for a complete install was included (bracket, unit, wiring, screws, etc.) and the quality is good. I wasnt expecting the leads to be sealed (wax like substance to fight water/corrosion) and this is a bonus for guys like me (again, the Dodge stays at the lake snapped to the boat and is used to launch/retrieve the boat). Also, the leads at the other end (where the wiring connects to the tow vehicle) came pre-assembled with butt connectors already attached. Not only do you not have to supply the connectors to install (I know, not a huge expense but just to call it out), but what a snap to connect to your vehicle. Just put your tow vehicle wires in and crimp. Nice! The wiring is a quality grade and the bracket is sturdy. If you are price shopping and you choose this one, expect to get more than you paid for relatively speaking.

> 3 dayMounting this to my 2016 Chevy Express van was a piece of cake. Didnt need instructions. Mounted to bottom of bumper left of the hitch. Looks and functions as factory installed. Nice and secure, clean, now maintenance free. Coupled with the Curt 55540 and the and Curt 14090, I have a total of 180 bucks and less than 45 minutes work into this with all 3 items. Was quoted $850-$1,000 from installers/dealers. Ridiculous. Did this myself for over 80% less!

> 3 dayPlugs into an existing 4-flat for lights if you have one in place, or that connector can be cut off and the wires individually spliced. The other three wires, for brakes, back-up and 12v have to be spliced. It comes with butt splices. You have to know what you’re doing. If you have a vehicle that has separate trailer light wiring and a connector underneath, like GM trucks and Suburbans, you would be much better off getting a connector made to connect to your specific brand of vehicle, and avoid splices altogether.

Greater than one weekIronically, the 4-pin plug on this which is made to go into the vehicles 4-pin plug had rubber shielding around the metal terminals to create a seal. I installed this on an 03 F150 which also had said shielding. The two wont work together, only one end is to have this shielding or boot. But fear not as the fix is easy: I just took a utility knife and cut the rubber off the plug on this Hopkins unit. It then plugged into the truck fine. Otherwise, these are not of the most robust construction. Hopkins also sells a more heavy duty adapter under the Endurance line which is of better construction. Ive used both and will opt for the Endurance in the future. The Endurance is gray in color and has a raised X on the 7-pin cover.

Greater than one weekInstalled very easily onto my existing 4-pole connector on my 1997 GMC pickup. Found a good lip under the bumper to bolt my bracket to, and made my own ground on the frame for the ground wire. Havent actually hooked it up yet, but a multi-meter shows 12V power in the correct spots when various vehicle functions occur: blinker, tails, brakes, etc.
