Imus Seal Butyl Joist Tape for Flashing Deck Joists and Beams (1-5/8” x 50’ Non-Skid)

Worked as expected. Slightly difficult to remove the backing from the adhesive side but nothing that would prevent me from buying again.

This product is excellent for protecting the would underneath our decking boards. But be prepared to get sticky hands

So used this for my first deck project in a long while. I’ve seen a lot of people using these and want to try it out. Seems for the couple bucks why not make it last longer. Obv I can’t give a did it work review. But here are my thoughts….. Install was not to hard. Very sticky so cloth gloves helped. Two people really makes a job go fast. We rolled all our tape as recommended by zip tape but this manufacturer does not suggest it. If you messed up you could pull back and fix. We used it in really hot weather so I think that made install easy. The small rolls had not trouble with install or the paper. The big roll had troubles with the paper backing. I like seeing the black in the joist spacing. Other than that it seems to be s good idea to protect the structure. I’d give it a good review but can’t give 4 or 5 star since ultimately you want to review performance as well.

I made some joist repairs on my 900 sq ft deck. I made th repairs in early August. Based on other reviews I really hope this product extend the wood joist life by 3 - 4 yrs.

Tape for the deck joists to help protect from rotting. Very easy to use. I used it on the deck base of a composite deck that I built. Great product, will save the deck framing for many years.

First time I ordered was trex tape. That tape had anti-skid grit on it so that it was not slippery to walk on. The tape from Imus does not have that.

Husband very happy with the functional and usability of the product. Bought a second time for another deck he is helping some friends with. Highly recommend.

I’m no deck building master. I can only compare this to the Tr*x tape I bought for the doubled beams. To me this tape was better than the Tre* tape. It adhered good and was easy to work with. Just like all the other tapes don’t lay it on anything dirty. The sides of the rolls are sticky and will pick up any dirt it touched.
