Honestly, I dont really bathe with Irish Spring myself, though I have in the past. I prefer more natural soaps instead of detergent bars and have gone to making my own that are far more skin nourishing and far less drying than this stuff. Instead, I have another use for this and its to keep mice out of the house as we live right next to a wooded area. I unwrap it, quarter the bars with a butcher knife, put it in the back of drawers, under sinks, and in the pantry, trading it out about twice a year. While I used to catch about 20-30 mice a year before using Irish Spring, I have only seen about 2 in the past couple of years. This beats all of the other deterrents that Ive tried and adds a bit of clean smell to the house without being overwhelming. The trick is to make sure that you change it out as necessary. Ive found that to be about every 6 months to be most effective. How you know youve hit that point is when you try to cut one of those quarter bars and it crumbles instead of cutting smoothly. Whatever is in it that does the trick has evaporated and left junk behind and doesnt cause me any allergic symptoms as many other scented products do.

Irish spring soap is and always will be my favorite soap..in a house of 7 we use alot of soap so being able to get this large package is great.

I’ve read many stories speaking of how Irish Spring repels rabbits (and deer) and I have had a horrible time keeping rabbits away from my sprouting plants and saplings, so I figured I give it a try. Unfortunately, IT DOES NOT WORK ON REPELLING RABBITS. I grated 6 bars and put it all around where I have noticed nibbling. The next day, one of my hostas was severely damaged. I live in a suburban neighborhood, and unfortunately, Irish Spring did not work for my rabbit problem. I do, however, like it as a body soap.
