> 3 dayThis device works well.....but required yet another app for it to work. It wasnt difficult, just time consuming. Perhaps theyre all like that. This was my first time using an Alexa plug.

> 3 dayReason for Kasa Smart Plugs I needed a solution for a traditional timer clock that failed. As I had already bought into the Kasa brand/ecosystem (Ive known and found TP-Link to be a good brand for many years) with a monitoring camera, I decided Id stick with Kasa and find a smart plug option. The main driver being the desire to avoid yet another phone app and have something smart. These cost only a tiny bit more than a traditional timer clock. Setup/Connection Is Simple - Use the App These small smart plugs are pretty easy to setup and the app completely walks you through the process. If you have a Guest home WiFi network and put these onto it you may have to juggle a bit. The device on which you run the app to setup will need to connect to the same network/SSID as you put the devices on. In my case that meant manually ensuring the phone I was using for setup connecting to my guest network temporarily, given its setup to connect by default to my may home network. Recommendation: Setup a guest network if you dont have one to keep the smart devices isolated from your computers and phones and more important stuff on your home network. That way if a smart device, camera or whatever gets hacked, they are not on your network where you have your computers and smart phones and anything else like NAS storage. Somewhat protected. Scheduling Events - Initially Confused but Powerful Options Once setup was complete I did confuse myself setting up a schedule in the app. I expected the schedule to include both an on and off time in a single scheduled event - thats not how it works. You create a schedule for individual on and off events. I did really like the option to use sunrise or sunset as an event time. Given I am using these for lamps having an on setting for say 20 mins before sunset, allows for energy efficiency as the smart plugs adjust for the sunset time each day this changes. In my case then, lamps come on when needed, based on the sunset time, and not at some fixed time. Overall Good value and easy to setup and use. I bought 2 more! This way I have 3 less things to change for DST and they turn on lamps when it gets dark based on the ever adjusting sunset time.

> 3 dayI bought a 2 pack of these because they were on sale just to use for a floor lamp that has a foot switch. Once I figured out how to set them up, I had to have more. I now have 8 of these. They work with Alexa so when your coming through the front door, you can say, “Alexa! Turn on the floor lamp!” and a second later, it’s on. Or if you are coming home from grocery shopping in December when it’s gets dark at 4 pm, I can go in the app and turn on the lights from the grocery store so when I walk through the door with all my groceries I don’t have to fumble for a light switch. I have one on a small, one room, window air conditioner and can set a schedule for it to come on at a particular time on certain days. I have one in my kids room for a salt lamp that they use for a night light scheduled to come on every night at 8pm so they can see at bedtime and then off at 11pm so it’s not on all night. The only thing I can say remotely negative about these is that they need to upgrade the app. It works well but the user interface is a bit clunky with the widgets on iOS. They haven’t taken advantage of the new widget format so you can’t put it anywhere. It stays in the widget page and there is a lot of wasted space. This is not negative of the products functionality, it’s just how I feel about the app. There are some really nice things about the app as well. You can make “scenes” which is having more than one outlet doing something together in one tap. When I want to watch a movie, I hit my “Movie” scene I created and it turns off all of my lights but turns on a nightlight in the kitchen and a dim mood light in the living room. Some items that I have like my battery charger do not have an on/off switch so I would constantly have to plug it in to use it and then unplug it when I was done. This made it hard to place because I have to have it near an outlet that I have access to. Now, I put one of these smart switches on it and I can put it wherever I want. I also made a scene for “All Off” so I can turn off everything with just a tap. When you open the app, it shows you what outlets are on and which ones are off. Great for the person who always thinks they left something on.

Greater than one weekI rarely write reviews on Amazon, but was so impressed with these. I use timers all over my house, and they’re awful because you can’t accurately get a time, and if they lose power for a moment you have to reset them. Trying to sync with other devices is next to impossible. with these, it was so easy. setup took about 2 minutes. schedule was easy to complete, and easy to sync. for the price, these are a 10/10

15-06-2025I read the reviews here which talked about the Energy Monitoring feature (great, thats what I wanted), but that feature is actually only included in the single style (KP115). Im not sure why the reviews are mixed together here between the 1 pack and the 4 pack which are actually differently capable devices. Someone should fix that. Anyway, other than the very unclear instructions about: 1. How to get into WiFi pairing mode initially: with the EP10 devices, you have to press and hold the side button for 5 seconds, while with the KP115, it automatically enters this mode during initial power-on 2. how to get integrated with the Amazon (Alexa Home) ecosystem, wow was that a pain to find (hint: Kasa app->Me->Third Party Services->Amazon Alexa) - even though I selected yes to the pre-pair with my Amazon/Alexa account on purchase, nothing seems to have been pre-synced/setup ... its worked as advertised. Looking forward to even smaller versions of these smart plugs in the future.
