I like how it tells you not only if your cable is open, but also if youve wired it incorrectly (as in all wires make it to the other side but the order is wrong). Youll generally know exactly what went wrong.

> 24 hourI used a cheap cable tester for a few years making a cable here and there and it was slow and failed when I started making more than one or two. The Klein is faster, better build feel, and the fault mode are clear. I wish I had spent the extra $5 up front for this tester.

> 24 hourDoes the basics really well. Will tell you if there’s minor issues with your network cable. For more in-depth readings you’ll require a more advanced unit but this is a good entry level device for someone doing a small home or office project. Word of advice keep a small piece of plastic to stop the battery from connecting when not in use or just take it out.
