> 3 dayAlready failed, and I am just outside the return window. Very disappointed. Was using as install media for Linux, so it was written to only once and read about 10 times... and now failed. Will never buy this brand of usb memory stick again.

Greater than one weekI was curious how much faster this 3.0 thumb drive is than the boxful of older USB 2.0 thumb drives Ive been using for a long time. Short answer: a LOT faster. To test, I used a USB 3.0 port in my computer and copied a 1.1GB file to it, then read the same file from it. Here are the results: Older 2.0 (SanDisk Cruzer) thumb drive - Write: 2 mins, 28 sec. Read: 38 sec. This Lexar 3.0 drive - Write 10 sec. Read: 7.5 sec. So its about 14 times faster to write to this drive and about 7 times faster to read. Thats significant. Two quibbles about this model: the cap is loose and is bound to get lost. Surprisingly, you cannot store the cap on the back end of the drive. The other quibble is the lack of an LED light to tell you when the computer is accessing the drive. Id pay a bit more for that. I never use encryption software or any proprietary software with my thumb drives so cannot comment on that. Overall, its an excellent, speedy thumb drive that has a losable cap and no LED.

> 3 dayThis seems like a good value product, but my main concern with USB drives is protecting them, since I mostly carry them around in my pocket until needed. Now, to be fair, this cap does a decent job of staying on while in my pocket. Snug fit, etc. HOWEVER, for some unknown reason, when they designed the cap for this, they made it to fit snugly while not in use, but while it does fit on the opposite end when you are using it -- it is completely loose and does not stay on. In other words, you will most likely lose the cap. Lexar, what were you thinking??

> 3 dayThese are a great value. I prefer thumb drives with caps like these for protection and to keep the dirt out. Work great for my everyday use.

> 3 dayAlways buy a name brand. I tried some cheap no name brands to save a little money but they almost started a fire. So lesson learned. Cheap memory is expensive when you have to throw them away. These are great and also at a reasonable price.
