Lixit Chinchilla Dust (27oz)

Comes with a scooper to use. My chinchilla loves rolling in the dust so having so much at a decent price is a life saver.

Good value for the size jar. I researched a bit online before settling on this item based on review rating and price. It is the first and only dust product I have purchase, so i cant compare it to other brands. What I can observe from my 1-2 year old chinchilla using it is that, as soon as I put him in a large enclosed plastic storage container with a lid top (to minimize dusty mess to the immediate area), he starts doing his cleaning routine. But this only lasted a few short minutes, not the 15 -30 minutes that I have read about online by other chinchilla owners. Anyway, the first time I used it, I noticed that it had sparkles in the dust, which does not affect the chinchilla, but trying to sweep the floor where the dust settles outside the container after the dust bath session was not very effective. Definitely had to resort to wet paper towel to get the clean up job done right on wood laminate surface. After use, the dust will get everywhere the chinchilla goes in the cage too.

This is supposed to be standard dust bath dust, but it has a bit of a shimmer to it -- its just a bit sparkly. It also seems to drift more than our previous dust and adhere more strongly to surfaces. Our chinchillas dont seem to care, but well be returning to Oxbow dust after this jar... if we dont just give this jar away.

This is the only dust i use with my chinchilla... he loves it...order came quick...

I am beyond upset that I have been lied to by this company and it took me 6 months and rereading the reviews to figure that out. This is not true Blue Cloud. The jars I have been receiving are Blue Beauty dust, which is not at all good for your chins respitory!!! I have been wondering if the severe sparkle in the dust would be a health hazard, and it is. My poor Leelu has been sneezing up a storm after her baths and sounds super wheezy. DO NOT USE THIS FOR YOUR ANIMALS!!!

This stuff doubles as bath and then litter for my hamster. He enjoys cleaning himself in it and I give him a fresh scoop everyday. Its the same quality stuff that I buy at the local big pet store only a lot cheaper!
