> 24 hourThis is such a beloved, classic story to me. My Mommy used to read it to me as a child, and I have the pleasure of reading it to my daughter now. If I could find Madeline wallpaper and all sorts of other Madeline paraphernalia I would most certainly decorate my daughters nursery in that fashion. I am ecstatic that Ludwig Bemelmans son is continuing his Madeline legacy... Although, I have yet to read Madeline and the Cats of Rome (I did browse the fantastic pictures in the bookstore though).

> 24 hourI loved this book as a little girl, as did my daughter. I just gave it to my Granddaughter who had me read it over and over when I visited.

> 24 hourI have always enjoyed the Madeline books and recently purchased some for memorial books at our local library. Madeline was my special book when I was young. I have shared these for years with little people and am so glad that they are still so popular. I love Madeline

> 24 hourI have a young niece who is a reluctant reader. For a Christmas gift last year, she received a book each month from Librarian Aunt Donna. I chose Caldecott Medal winners. She loved every book I sent to her and really got into them. She wants me to send her more. That reluctant reader is learning the joy of reading and being introduced to some wonderful books. Madeline has been a classic for over 50 years. Madeline is an orphan in a boarding school in Paris. After some adventures, she finds love and a home.

> 24 hourIm guessing this is a translation from a foreign language, because a fair number of the verses either dont rhyme or rhyme randomly mid-sentence. It makes it difficult to read. Additionally some parts dont make sense anymore. (Do any other parents know how a phone might ring DAN-TON-ten-six? Neither did I.) Additionally the Madeline character keeps changing during the story. Im not sure if shes a red-head or a blonde. So if youre buying this out of nostalgia, you may want to borrow a copy from the library first. It doesnt make nearly as much sense as I remember it making...
