Greater than one weekYou have to move it up and down to focus. You can’t just lay it on a page to in large it. Like you would like to read a book

> 3 dayThe magnifier is quite light to hold, although I find that it can become uncomfortable if held for long periods of time (Im a woman in my 60s and do not have the strongest hands). The lighting is excellent, with a combined on/off dimmer dial thats easily accessible. The only problem that Ive encountered is that the battery compartment is located on the backside of the protruding handle/tab. The battery compartment has a loose friction-fit sliding door. When holding the device, ones fingers are held against the battery compartment door. The door keeps sliding open while you are holding the device and reading. You can overcome this by being careful, but its a bit of a nuisance.

> 3 dayOverall I am not thrilled with this item. The batter cover would not stay put and after the last time it popped off I lost it, so the batteries are exposed. I wish the lights were brighter. The way I have to hold it over the text it casts shadows, which is irritating. It is not comfortable to hold. I have to constantly adjust it to get a clear well-lit view of the text. I need something like this as my eyesight is diminishing and I need a new eyeglass prescription, which I cannot afford right now. Still, this is better than having nothing or having a smaller magnifying glass that isnt lit.
